Curious about Kyphoplasty? Kyphoplasty is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that can provide significant pain relief for patients experiencing compression fractures of the spine. The procedure aims to stabilize the fracture and help restore height and reduce deformities in the spine. During the procedure, a cement-like material is injected into the targeted area, which hardens within the bone, supporting and stabilizing the fracture to prevent further collapse. For patients suffering from painful spinal fractures, kyphoplasty provides an effective solution. Please contact First State Spine to schedule a consultation to evaluate if you're a candidate for kyphoplasty to achieve a pain-free lifestyle once again. https://firststatespine.com/surgical-options/treatment-options/conditions/

Spinal stenosis commonly occurs in the cervical and lumbar areas of the spine. It is a narrowing of the spinal canal that strains the spinal cord and the nerve roots below the constriction. This condition is most often acquired due to age-related degeneration of the spine or traumatic injury to the spine. Common symptoms of lumbar spinal stenosis include radiating pain from the low back to the buttocks and down the legs, along with weakness and loss of sensation or tingling. The pain can worsen with standing, walking, or bending backwards, and lessen with sitting or leaning forward. At First State Spine we have treatments available to relieve pain caused by spinal stenosis. Cervical disc replacement surgery is done to reduce nerve compression and preserve motion at the affected vertebrae. This part of your spine serves as an enclosure for the spinal cord, which offers sensation and movement to the upper body. When the gap between vertebrae becomes too small, it can press against the spinal cord or nerves, causing pain, numbness, or weakness. If regular treatments do not help, disc surgery could be recommended. Undergoing a disc replacement involves swapping out the damaged disc with an artificial one. This may present more motion than traditional disc surgery and put less strain on the other vertebrae. If you are considering cervical disk replacement and want to speak with one of our expert physicians, schedule a consultation today! https://bit.ly/3Cr5YkE

Are you a candidate for epidural steroid injections? Are you experiencing neck, shoulder, or arm pain due to a pinched nerve in your cervical or lumbar spine? Common causes include herniated disks, spinal stenosis, or radiculopathy. An epidural steroid injection may provide relief. During this procedure, an anti-inflammatory medication is administered into the epidural space surrounding the spinal nerves. This acts to decrease pressure and swelling, which may be exacerbating pain. Epidural steroid injections have been shown to successfully reduce inflammation and the associated pain. If you have been suffering from chronic back, neck, or leg pain, an epidural steroid injection could help. To determine if you may benefit from this treatment option, please contact First State Spine to schedule a consultation. We would be pleased to evaluate your condition and discuss whether epidural injections may help provide relief for your spinal pain. https://firststatespine.com/non-surgical-options/treatment-options/
