Big day for our HOSA students! 🚁 🚑 Air Evac and DSCC EMT visited during our last chapter meeting. Students learned about emergency response, teamwork, and real-world medical careers. It provided a true taste of emergency medicine! Thank to our partners for inspiring our future healthcare professionals!

A proud 2022 DCHS graduate and HOSA alumna, Jesye now serves as an OBGYN Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - helping patients through life’s most meaningful moments.

From DCHS classrooms to the sidelines of Mississippi State Football, Mary Malone Adcock (’20) proves how far passion and preparation can take you!

While at DCHS, Mary Malone gained hands-on experience in Health Science and HOSA that shaped her career path. Now, as an intern athletic trainer for Mississippi State Football, she’s putting those lessons into action every day.

“I feel like I was very prepared for my college healthcare classes because I learned so much terminology, techniques, and anatomy in Health Science. From competing in HOSA, I learned how to tape an ankle for the very first time which is something I do about fifty times a day in my current job! You get out what you put into it!"

DCHS HOSA recently hosted representatives from TCAT Newbern at DCHS for “Ice cream and Injections!” While students enjoyed an ice cream sundae, instructors from TCAT Newbern spoke about their healthcare certification programs. They also assisted in instructing students on different types of injections and how to perform them by using simulated injection pads and syringes. DCHS HOSA is grateful for our community partners who invest in our student’s success!

Anatomy students brought neuroscience to life by creating models of neurons and synapses out of Play-Doh. It’s amazing to see complex concepts take shape when creativity meets science.
