11 months into growing out my gray hair.

What I’ve learned as a recovering people pleaser:

1. Authenticity can be scary AF
2. People are going to have opinions. It’s none of my business and it hasn’t changed my decision, which was not easy. Iykyk.
3. Self-abandoning was costing me more than I realized. My scalp was literally on fire from 25 years of chronic hair dye.
4. On the other side, I’ve found real joy… also some real frustration (because let’s be honest, cold turkey grow out has really had some uggo stages)
5. I didn’t wait until I felt comfortable. I did it anyways because I wanted and I had no idea what the outcome was going to be
6. I am the one most affected by my decisions and I can choose differently anytime.

I’m really glad I made this decision.

Have you ever caught yourself saying “it’s okay”
when you knew full well it wasn’t?

Yeah… same.

We do it because we don’t want the other person to feel uncomfortable.

But most of the time?
We’re actually just grateful they owned it.

Try saying, “Thank you for apologizing.”

It hits different.

A lot of self-abandonment doesn’t look dramatic.
It looks like being “fine,” being easy, being the one who adjusts.

If you saw yourself in this list, you’re likely not overreacting, you’re ignoring yourself.

You don’t have to keep disappearing to stay connected.
That’s something a lot of us learned.
And it’s something that can be unlearned.

This weekend, we gathered to celebrate Casa De La Familia and our shared commitment to serving underserved communities, such as domestic violence survivors and victims of crime. I’m honored to serve as a Clinical Supervisor within this incredible organization. Being a therapist has been a lifelong calling, but guiding and supporting the next generation of clinicians and being able to provide advocacy and training within the community has truly been a dream come true ✨

Shout out to that time I was on KTLA News! 💫

From the beginning of my career, I’ve been an advocate for survivors of domestic violence. In January, I stepped into a new role as a Clinical Supervisor with Casa de la Familia, working with an incredible team serving underserved communities.

About a month ago, I had the honor of speaking with KTLA on Casa’s behalf to share about the universal hand signal — a simple but powerful tool that can help save lives.

Grateful for the chance to keep showing up for this work, this community, and the stories that deserve to be heard. 💛

Healing doesn’t always look serious.
Sometimes it’s the deep ugly crying.
Other times it’s laughter that reminds you that you’re still here and you’re finally feeling again.

I help folks who are done holding it all together on the outside while falling apart inside.

Now accepting new clients. Let’s find your genuine joy again ☺️🩷 Link in Bio to book a free consultation

Anyone else feel like they’ve got it all together on the outside… while the inside feels completely misaligned?
You’re not alone. I help my clients move from holding it all together, to actually feeling aligned with who they are, one session at a time! 🙃
