Where it’s made holds the secret.

In the world of metabolic health and weight management, one hormone has been gaining attention for its powerful role in regulating appetite, glucose balance, and energy metabolism: GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1). While pharmaceutical interventions that mimic GLP-1 are making headlines, there are natural, holistic strategies that can enhance your body’s own production and sensitivity to this essential hormone.

As a functional and holistic nutritionist, I want to explore how GLP-1 works, its connection to gut health, and some lifestyle interventions—especially those that support the gut microbiome—to optimize metabolic well-being.

The small and large intestine health has a lot to do with our natural production. Toxins and poor nutrients impact those organs.

DM GLPDIET to get a sample of my 5 day GLP-1 supporting diet.

Calorie deficit diets DON’T work for everyone! Have you ever tried to cut calories but the scale didn’t move? Maybe again and again? But the result was the same- nothing?

🧬Whether we respond to calorie deficit diets can be found in epigenetics. This is so important to know because if you DO RESPOND- great, go for it, you’ll be successful. If you DON’T RESPOND, you’ll be wasting lots of time, hunger, and calories in a futile effort.

🧬Understand your epigenetics to unlock this powerful piece of your weight loss puzzle.

Just one more reason to eat the chocolate 🍫

When you use food to activate your beneficial genes the result is systemic, longer lasting, and more impactful.

1 NSAID or antiinflammatory works locally and short term, yet the result from nutrigenomics like blueberries activating your anti inflammatory genes is exponential.

SIRT1 genes have profound action within the body- all fantastic for longevity and healthy aging.

✨Cellular repair and cleanup
✨Anti inflammatory
✨Healthy hormones
✨Improved metabolism and mitochondrial health

Lactose intolerant often biggest dairy lovers out there.

I see it again and again, a variation of:
“I still enjoy it as long as I’m by a bathroom”
“It’s worth the gas and bloat”

Colostrum: the superfood with side effects?

Before you get angry- I’m not disavowing the immune power of this trendy “liquid gold” Those are real and profound.

💨But I’m also seeing a lot of gas, bloat, digestive and even liver stress with clients resonating with cow dairy sensitivities who take daily colostrum.

🧀Most don’t know they have a cow dairy sensitivity. Some do and they avoid “traditional cow dairy” like cheese and milk but unknowingly are creating daily immune reactions and energetic imbalances at the gut (and gut-brain) level.

What if you’ve been OK with dairy your whole life, you’re in the clear, right?
🫣
This is when frequency comes into the equation. Our bodies are resilient and tolerable and favor diversity. So when we consume something everyday it can have an adverse reaction to that, mounting an immune reaction (to the dairy proteins and sugars) or ignite gut inflammation.

🥛Here’s a “frequency sensitivity” that can heal once you avoid the trigger for a few weeks. You can bring it back but enjoy it, say, every other day.

Do you take colostrum? What’s been your experience? 👇
