NCH Golf Classic Raises More Dollars for Future Healthcare Scholarships
More than 20 golf teams powered through the rain at Newport Country Club last Saturday, completing the 37th Annual North Country Hospital Scholarship Golf Classic. With amazing support from our sponsors, donors, and players, the event netted $30,000 for future scholarships.
With 9 under par, the Men’s Division Low Gross winning team was Jared Ducharme, Joe Jenkins, Dawson Oliver, and Cole Azur. The winning Low Net at 19 under par was the Lake Region student team of Caleb Greenwood, David Sawyer, Masyn Harvey, and Waylon Young.
The Mixed Division results include an 11 under par for the team Kevin Kincaid, Lisa Kincaid, Larry Fortin, and Steve Fisher. The Mixed Division Low Net at 20 under par was Dexter Degre, Travis Blake, Raven Buttice, and Brendan Curtis.
The Perry and Priscella Fitch longest drive contest for men resulted in a win for Zach Griffith, and for ladies the longest drive went to Jean Norris. Closest to the pin awards on four holes went to Dawn Kelley, Bobby Jo Rivard, Hudson Lantagne, and Ben Hertz.
The success of this tournament year after year would not be possible without our great sponsorship support as well as the teams who play. At high school graduation time, North Country Hospital awarded 17 new $1,000 scholarships to students pursuing a degree in various healthcare fields of study, including nursing, radiology, respiratory therapy, and more. Each year provided these students stay within a healthcare field and accomplish at least a 3.0 GPA, their scholarship is renewed. This results in about $40,000 benefitting 40 students each year, all coming from the hospital foundation’s fundraising efforts.
Special thanks to lead sponsors Currance, M&T Bank, NFP Property & Casualty, Community National Bank, Forvis Mazars, and North Country Hospital Medical Staff.
