Our WIP spring outing included a trip to the Treetop Nursery in Sauk Centre. We put together our very own arrangements of potted plants and then went on to the Haunted Palmer House for lunch! We had so much fun and would love to have you join us for our next event! If you would like more information on how to join WIP and what we do for women and children in our communities, message or call us. We would love to have you be a part of this great group of women!

Through the generous donations received by the local Women in Philanthropy (WIP) group, $10,875 was recently given to seven area programs as voted on by WIP members at the Annual Meeting held in November: Staples Community Center, Project Linus of Todd/Wadena Counties, Staples Men’s Chorus - 2018 Real Men Sing Junior Festival, Central MN Boys Choir, Lamplighter Community Theatre, Colla Voce Girls Choir and Pillager Elementary School.

The WIP group offers competitive grant dollars to surrounding communities in an effort to support needed health services, community education and preventative health programs and activities that contribute to the quality of life for children and youth in the five-county service area including Todd, Wadena, Cass, Morrison and portions of Crow Wing counties.

WIP is made up of area women, who, through donations, hope to positively impact the overall health and wellness of children. Awarded grant funds will ultimately support the mission of the WIP group, a program of Lakewood Health System’s community health initiatives. With a current membership of 59 women, the WIP group has received more than $157,000 since it was founded in 2014.

To learn more about the WIP program, or how to become a member, contact Heidi Chapman, Foundation Director at 218-894-8503 or WIP@lakewoodhealthsystem.com.
