Yesterday I “accidentally” ate an entire bag of potato chips 🤦🏼♀️
Yes, even health coaches have our moments. I sat down to have a moment with one of my favorite treats and I wasn’t being mindful of my portions and before I knew it, the bag was empty. The BIG bag!
The old me would’ve beat myself up. I would’ve told myself that I’d blown it, that I was a sorry excuse for a health coach and that I may as well finish every junk food in the house for the rest of the day. Then I would’ve punished myself the next day by spending hours at the gym making up for it. Sound familiar?
Those are really unhealthy patterns and I’ve improved my habits and self-talk so much when it comes to food.
Do you want to know what 41 year old me did about it? NOTHING! I realized I’d over done it and forgave myself. I went back to eating healthy for the rest of the day and did my normal workout the next morning. One mistake didn’t need to derail my usual healthy outlook when it comes to food, exercise and balance.
I’m guessing there will be a lot of in your life when it comes to food over the next couple of weeks, as I know there will be in mine. Allow yourself space to enjoy your holiday and all that means. There’s plenty of time before, after and in between for healthy foods and a healthy attitude is even more important.
