ror of the Maurya Dynasty, who ruled almost all of the Indian subcontinent from c. 268 to 232 BCE.. Ashoka was known for being a fierce and cruel conqueror. One day, after a particularly bloody battle, he looked over the battlefield, seeing all of the death and destruction he had caused. He decided at that time that he would never again be the cause of so much suffering and would do what he could to put an end to all suffering. Ashoka began to practice Buddhism and promoted the spread of its teachings of peace and harmony throughout ancient Asia. Our mission at Ashoka Healing & Holistics is to honor our namesake by doing what we can to help put an end to people's suffering. We believe that like Ashoka, anyone can heal and transform themselves.
