I had the privilege to be part of the first Palate Marathon, where Tessa brought together a wonderful group of like-minded individuals to provide cleft palate surgery to 140 children over six days. Many of these children had not had their palate repaired at the typical time, or they had outcomes that left them with substantial VPI. There is still a huge backlog of children who need their palate surgery and I can’t wait to be part of the future Tess Unlimited Palate Marathons. is helping provide the highest level of cleft care in Guatemala! This young boy was living with an unrepaired complete cleft lip and palate. It was well beyond the time a child with a cleft would normally have surgery to repair the lip and palate, so we decided to repair the lip and palate simultaneously.

In 2024 we are planning 600 surgeries! Yes, 600!

On top of our 10 surgery weeks we have added a palate marathon in January! Our local surgeon Bruno will be operating twice a month, and our friends from Mexico will be flying to Guatemala every month to provide education, training and surgeries.

With all of this we need your help!! 600 surgeries means we need more money to continue our mission.
