We’ve officially graduated from “the place in the bank” and have some more exciting announcements in the near future - stay tuned!

We are accepting new clients 5+ for therapy and medication management, accept most commercial insurances and are located here in the heart of Great Bridge. We are so proud to serve the community of Hampton Roads and appreciate the opportunity to do so every day 🩵

Sometimes, thinking can cause more harm than good for us. Have you ever found yourself thinking into a hole of more stress and anxiety?

I *think* I should be doing better…I *think* it’s going to turn out poorly…I *think* people don’t approve of my actions…I *think* I am not as good as those other people…or any other roller coaster your mind might try to take you on.

The next time you find yourself filling your thoughts with “thinks,” try to step back, re-evaluate and identify the “knows.” What do you KNOW to be true:

✨Fact check the situation - emotions removed, what are the facts
✨Acknowledge what you know you are doing well and give yourself credit
✨Avoid catastrophizing and adding details that aren’t factually there
✨Stay in the present - if you stress about possible outcomes in the future, you are putting yourself in a position to stress twice about something that only happens once
✨Focus on your wins and what is going well - keep a record if that helps!

Life can be hard enough without our thoughts trying to make things harder! Focus on what you know, remember the facts and go after what you want because you deserve it 🩵

Some mornings we wake up and have 100% to give. Other mornings, we might only have 50%. Here’s the fun fact: if we only have 50% to give and we give that 50%, we have given 100% of what we have that day. Doing our best each day is all we can ask of ourselves.

Some days, we have the energy to create and share art with others. Other days, we can benefit from the inspiration and light of others artwork. Taylor, one of our Art Therapists, created our “Take Some Art, Leave Some Art” gallery. Art can help with all the days whether you are feeling inspired or need some inspiration. Action: the only difference between having an empty or a full cup.

✔️How you think determines how you feel.
✔️How you feel leads to how you behave.
✔️How you behave impacts how you think.

The ability to create a positive disruption in your thinking, feelings or actions leads to confidence and happiness. Instead of wondering if your cup is half full or half empty, you get to say, “how can I fill it today?”

Action is the key. The first step, the first disruptor, setting the boundary, investing investing in yourself or all of the above! Small changes every day add up to life changing shifts. YOU have the power to do that and we are so proud of you for showing up 🩵

Sometimes in mental health treatment, an aha moment can sometimes make all the difference in the world. Something that makes a connection, jolts your reality, provokes emotions and gets engrained in our memory. Therapists may have to go to school for years and go through extensive training but at the end of the day, it’s all about the connection and guiding you to those moments.

Sometimes all you need is a nudge, other times it might feel like a push but either way you will heal and grow. You deserve to be the best version of you!
