Day 60 – Gratitude for Unlearning

Today we honor the courage to unlearn.

In yoga, growth is not always about adding more. Sometimes it is about releasing old stories, outdated beliefs, and patterns that no longer serve. The Yoga Sutras remind us that suffering comes from misidentification with the fluctuations of the mind. When we unlearn, we return to truth.

At the studio, we see it every day. A student lets go of comparison. A teacher softens perfectionism. A breath replaces reaction.

Unlearning is sacred. It clears space for presence.

“Yoga is the cessation of the fluctuations of the mind.” ~Yoga Sutras of Patanjali

Day 59: Gratitude for Nervous System Safety

Today we honor safety.

The kind that allows shoulders to drop.
Breath to deepen.
Eyes to soften.

A regulated nervous system is fertile ground for healing, connection, and growth.

In this space, may you feel safe to move, to rest, to be.

When you own your breath, nobody can steal your peace.

Day 58: Gratitude for Boundaries

Boundaries are sacred.

They are not walls. They are clarity.

Yoga teaches us to listen. When to lean in. When to rest. When to say no. When to step back.

A healthy boundary protects our energy so we can give from overflow, not depletion.

May we honor the wisdom of enough.

Day 57: Gratitude for Patience in Growth

Growth is not instant. It is seasonal.

Some days feel expansive. Some feel stuck. Both are part of the path.

In our studio we honor slow progress. The wobbly balances. The gradual healing. The steady commitment.

The lotus does not bloom on demand.

Patience is strength.

Day 56: Gratitude for Intuition

That quiet voice.
That inner knowing.
That pause before yes or no.

Intuition is the whisper of the soul.

When we slow down enough through breath, meditation, and movement, we can hear it clearly.

Trust the inner teacher.

You are your own guru. Traditional yogic teaching

Day 53: Gratitude for Kindness

Kindness costs nothing and changes everything.

To the teachers who stay after class.
To the students who welcome someone new.
To the quiet encouragement in a shared glance.

Kindness is yoga in action.

In a gentle way, you can shake the world. Often attributed to Mahatma Gandhi

May our studio be known for softness and strength.

Day 24: Gratitude for Simplicity

Gratitude Day 24 is devoted to simplicity.
In a world that constantly asks us to do more, have more, and be more, simplicity is a quiet act of devotion. It invites us back to what truly matters. Breath. Presence. Enoughness.

In yoga, simplicity is not lack. It is clarity. It is choosing fewer distractions so we can hear the wisdom already within us. A simple practice. A simple meal. A simple moment of stillness. These are not small things. They are sacred.

Today, I am grateful for simplicity as a teacher. It reminds me that peace does not come from accumulation, but from release.

“Nature is satisfied with simplicity.” ~Isaac Newton

Gratitude Day 19 🤍

Today we pause in gratitude to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. A teacher of love, courage, and nonviolence, Dr. King reminded us that justice, compassion, and unity are practices we must live each day. His vision continues to guide us toward a world rooted in dignity, equality, and peace for all beings.

At Ocean View Yoga, we honor this day through reflection, embodied practice, and community. Yoga teaches us that change begins within, through awareness, nervous system regulation, and conscious action aligned with our values.

Join Loni today at 12 pm for a special class focused on nervous system regulation, grounding, and honoring Dr. King’s legacy. Together we breathe, move, and remember that love in action is a powerful force for transformation.

May we continue to walk the path he illuminated with humility, compassion, and service.
