Postoperative pain is normal, but how we manage it matters. I use spinal anesthesia and carefully placed long-acting medications during surgery to provide continuous relief over the first critical 72 hours. This method targets pain where it starts rather than relying on medications you take later to chase it.
By minimizing opioid use, we protect patients from potential dependence and side effects that can slow recovery, such as grogginess, constipation, or nausea. When pain is controlled locally and gradually wears off, patients are able to participate in physical therapy and regain strength more quickly.
Ultimately, the goal is to help your body heal naturally while keeping discomfort manageable. This evidence-based, patient-focused approach lets you recover safely, regain mobility faster, and get back to the activities you love without the risks of traditional pain management strategies.
