Cyndi Lauper is not retiring. She’s just done schlepping the luggage.

The singer, songwriter is wrapping up her Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour, which began in October 2024.

“This farewell tour has been pretty amazing,” says Lauper. “There’s a lot of love, and I’m just grateful.”

But stepping away from touring doesn’t mean Lauper won’t be busy. Life off the road will include working on the new musical adaptation of the award-winning 1988 film Working Girl, which will have its world premiere Nov. 9 at California’s La Jolla Playhouse; induction into the 2025’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame class on Nov. 8; and more time spent with her husband of nearly 34 years, actor David Thornton, 72.

“I’d like to enjoy my husband. I actually really like him,” says Lauper. “He’s funny, very funny. He’s handsome.”
