Why does Star Wars Day Matter? It gives us something fun to look forward too. It’s like knowing you get a pizza party after state test at school. Little things keep us going and bring us joy.

Day 2 of 31 days of mental health tidbits in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month. Why can your partner get on the phone with their friend and talk all day but they don’t talk that way to you. If they know how we’ll respond then they will be more open to communicate.

The Myth of Normal by Gabor Mate breaks down how nature and nurture shape how we feel and the impact they have on our bodies. Instead of just treating an ailment, he looks at what that ailment is trying to tell us about the trauma we are holding on to. One of the most interesting concepts that he breaks down is addiction. Saying that addiction is really related to pain management. A person’s ability to quit an addiction is based on how much pain they can tolerate, both physical and mental. “The issue is never the external target but one’s internal relationship to it.”

Day 1 of 31 days of mental health tidbits for Mental Health Awareness Month. If you walk into a room thinking the people don’t like you, you will behave in a way that the people won’t like you. Sometimes it’s not about them it’s about our attitude towards them. Change your mindset and you’ll change your experiences.
