As a professor, I worry deeply about the future of our profession and the ability of students to afford graduate nursing education at a time when our healthcare system needs them most.

That’s why I’m incredibly grateful to more than 140 bipartisan members of Congress in urging the Department of Education to ensure nursing students, including those pursuing post-baccalaureate and graduate degrees, have access to the federal loans they need to complete their education.

Spent the last two days in the cadaver lab and ultrasound stations, and nothing compares to watching students connect the dots between anatomy, physiology, and clinical practice. Grateful for the opportunity to educate and guide the next generation of anesthesia providers. At Rosalind Franklin University, our students show up with passion, purpose, and an incredible drive to learn. Proud of them already. 🙌🏽

Cook County is the second most populous county in the U.S., home to over 5 million people, encompassing the city of Chicago and its suburbs.
Last night, I attended a Cook County Democratic event and had the honor of meeting the Governor of Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear along with many inspiring candidates. Much of the conversation centered on healthcare access, funding cuts, and equity issues that impact millions across our communities.
As a CRNA, I’m proud to stand among fierce advocates for healthcare access Toni Preckwinkle. We are key players in advancing equitable care and ensuring that every patient regardless of zip code receives the quality and compassion they deserve.

What an inspiring event! I had the privilege of hosting an event for Nabeela Syed, who is running for Illinois State Senate in the 26th District. As a current State Representative, she has sponsored and signed over 20 bills, many focused on healthcare access and supporting the critical role of CRNAs in patient care.

I’m proud to support a candidate who not only listens to healthcare professionals but also takes action to improve the system for patients and providers alike.

The Western Summit-Region 5 Conference was absolutely amazing with almost 800 attendees! It was at a great venue, beautifully organized, and full of inspiring moments. I even had the opportunity to watch a live self intubation-crazy!! It was wonderful speaking with so many RN candidates about pursuing a career as a CRNA and the importance of advocacy. Las Vegas did not disappoint. A big shout-out to my friend Erica McCall, one of the brilliant planners behind this outstanding event!

Advancing healthcare access and equity is critical in the present political environment, and CRNAs are instrumental in fulfilling this role. Nabeela Syed, a candidate for the Illinois State Senate in the 51st district, has made healthcare equity and access and CRNAs central priority, and it was a pleasure to support her. Senators Adriane Johnson and Mark Walker attended in a gesture of support.
