From couches to kayaks... it was a very rough and definitely sucky summer, but Cowboy finally got his river day! Not an easy paddle with water levels as low as they are but we got there. Thank you, Peg Grondin for the push to get us out there!! Hopefully, he can carry today's positivity to Thursdays scan!

Let's try this again....
Our much beloved oncologist has left Memorial and was replaced with a new oncologist who doesn't seem to have the same passion that Dr. Leiber does. We went for the appointment to discuss the results of the scan but we really didn't get any information from him.
What we know: The tumor is still there but has shrunk by about 66ish%.
What we don't know: Will it continue to shrink without additional chemo? Is surgery to remove it in the near future? Is this positive news or negative news? What are the next steps?

I believe another PET scan has been ordered but we don't have an appointment for one yet.
Can't lie, this appointment left us feeling very frustrated and almost dismissed. Of course, the infusion lab nurses and staff were wonderful and did everything possible to help us out! We love you guys!
I will provide an update as soon as we learn more.
Overall, he is starting to get some stamina back and has been coming to "work" and loves seeing people!

Once again, apologies for being horrible at posting. CAT scan tomorrow (Thursday) to see how the tumor responded to the chemo... We won't know the results until Monday. Send Cowboy those positive vibes!!!!

Today's update... Cowboy came to "work" today. He spent most of his time sleeping on the couch but he loved spending some time with his regulars! His exact words " I'm a V8 with a turbo... except no oil or gas in the tank... and might have flat tires..."
It was great to see him out of the house!

Hi everyone! Thanks for checking in; I'm so sorry I haven't posted this week. If you've messaged and I haven't responded, please forgive me- it's been a busy week and we truly appreciate all the kind words and welll wishes!

Cowboy continues to have the struggles. His blood levels are still all wonky and it looks like he'll be having another blood transfusion tomorrow. Hopefully this will get him some energy.

On a sad note, we lost our great friend Bob Nyburg today. I thought I'd share a picture of my two guys when they were both feeling better.

In case it ever comes up in conversation... a gaggle of EMTs cannot fit in my kitchen! Thank you North Conway and Action...

Thank you North Conway and Action Ambulance for getting here quick and the ER staff at Memorial for taking great care of him. All is under control and he's feeling better. Tomorrow will be better!

The bounce-back this week isn't happening like it should. He's down about 30 pounds from April. Also, his white blood count is so low he required a blood transfusion yesterday. The transfusion seemed to help; he has a bit of color in his face (finally) and a smidge more energy. His peeps at Memorial are taking good care of him!
