What an incredible evening at the Common Man in Concord! 🙌 Thank you to everyone who joined us for our annual meeting reception yesterday. It was so meaningful to welcome our first drug court graduates to the board since 2018, honor our departing leaders, and hear powerful stories of transformation and hope. The energy in the room reminded us why this work matters so much.

Happy Holidays!

Check out our 2024 Winter Newsletter, including a moving story from a drug court graduate about what support from the Friends meant for her and her family during recovery journey.

Imagine a life transformed. A parent reunited with their children. A career rebuilt. A recommitment to a life free from substance use. These aren’t just stories — they’re the real outcomes of our statewide alternative treatment court programs.

Have you heard?! There's going to be a new diversion program in town!

Michael Moffett for State Representative "...sponsored a bill in the Legislature this year to establish a “veterans court” that will allow judges to prioritize care and recovery for veterans who’ve been convicted of a crime, rather than imprisonment."

"Governor Chris Sununu signed the bill in August, and it’ll be implemented starting in July 2025.

Veterans court "...will allow judges to prioritize care and recovery for veterans who’ve been convicted of a crime, rather than imprisonment.

"Veterans...are required to check in with parole officers, submit to drug testing and complete court-ordered treatments. [The new law] doesn’t excuse or change any verdicts but ... the state can impose a different kind of sentencing for veterans..."

"Some of New Hampshire’s mental health courts already have a veterans track. ...programs like those decrease recidivism and keep people from reentering the criminal justice system."

As a retired Marine Corps troop commander, Loudon State Rep. Mike Moffett has seen veterans run into trouble with the law – something he argues is often directly related to their military service. That’s why he sponsored a bill in the Legislature this...

When you give to Friends of NH Drug Courts during NH Gives, you give directly to drug court participants who are working hard to reclaim their lives and achieve long-term recovery. Participants like Rianna, who we helped get her driver’s license back, enabling her to get to work, grow her relationship with her daughter, and become more independent.

Drug courts work – they transform lives, and Friends of NH Drug Courts supports participants and removes financial barriers so they can be successful in realizing their full potential.

Please consider supporting Friends of NH Drug Courts during NH Gives on June 11 and 12. Learn more and bookmark nhgives.org/organizations/friends-of-new-hampshire-drug-courts.
