Healing your mind doesn't have to be done through talk therapy alone. Here at Bellaire Recovery, we know the power of holistic approaches like detox baths and spa treatments to support mental clarity and emotional balance during recovery.

A detox bath is a great way to release physical tension, calm the nervous system and get a better night's sleep. Epsom salts or essential oils are a good addition to the water. Warm water can help to ease anxiety and stop you from thinking too fast. A lot of people in recovery find that regular baths help them deal with their emotions and cut down on stress without them resorting to old ways of coping.

Treatments like massages, aromatherapy, and gentle body scrubs can also help to regulate cortisol (the stress hormone), boost mood, and improve concentration. These therapies give you time to reconnect with your body, which is something many lose touch with during addiction. Feeling safe, nurtured and present in your own skin can be a powerful step towards mental clarity.

Here at Bellaire Recovery, we think that top-notch, healing experiences shouldn't be just an extra perk — they're a crucial part of getting better. We make personalised plans that include detox baths, spa therapies, and other holistic services to help you get back on track and build a strong foundation for lasting sobriety.

Breathwork is a somatic practice that helps release trauma stored in the body — especially helpful in addiction recovery, where emotional shutdown and anxiety are common. At Bellaire Recovery in Los Angeles, we use breathwork not as a trend, but as a grounded therapeutic tool.

Trauma activates the nervous system, often locking the body in patterns of shallow breathing or chronic tension. Just a few minutes of focused breath can shift the brain out of survival mode.

We use several methods tailored to each client:

Box Breathing: Inhale–hold–exhale–hold (4–4–4–4). Balances the nervous system.

4-7-8 Breath: Inhale for 4, hold for 7, exhale for 8. Calms anxiety fast.

Connected Circular Breathing: Deep rhythmic breaths with no pause. Helps release suppressed emotion.

Somatic Breath Awareness: Mindful observation of natural breath patterns. Builds internal safety.

Breathwork can bring up emotion — that’s part of the healing. Our trauma-informed facilitators guide clients gently, integrating each session with grounding and support.
Used consistently, breathwork becomes more than a technique — it’s a way to reconnect to your body, regulate emotions, and move forward without needing to “talk it all out.”

Start your healing with us. Bellaire Recovery blends premium care with deep emotional support.

This week, our clients from Bellaire had a beautiful experience — a trip to see How to Train Your Dragon in 4DX. For many, it wasn’t just about the movie. It was about feeling alive again.

With moving seats, wind, mist, and the immersive magic of cinema, the 4DX experience brought out laughter, gasps, and even a few tears. These are the simple, powerful moments that remind us why recovery matters. Reconnecting with wonder, joy, and each other is part of healing — and outings like this help rebuild trust, hope, and self-worth.

Many of our clients hadn’t been to a movie in years. Some said they had forgotten what it felt like to be fully present. For them, this wasn’t just entertainment — it was transformation.

At our center, we believe recovery isn’t just about staying sober — it’s about rebuilding a full, meaningful life. That includes fun, freedom, and the thrill of new memories.

Ready to start your own journey? Call us today and let’s take the first step together — because your life deserves to be more than survival. It deserves joy.

When you've spent years just getting by, the idea of "self-care" can feel a bit weird – even like you're taking it too far. Here at Bellaire Recovery, we think that taking care of yourself isn't a luxury, it's a key part of rebuilding trust with yourself. This is really important, especially when you're getting better, as your mind and body are learning what it's like to feel safe, balanced and rested.

Why is self-care important when you're trying to stay sober?
It's all about getting your nervous system back on track, making sure you're taking care of yourself, and gently changing the idea that you need to be in pain to grow.

Thoughtful, intentional self-care rituals allow you to:
Rebuild your self-worth by getting into some good habits.
Keep calm and don't get too emotional.
Create a healthy routine.
Treat your body to a bit of rest, movement and nourishment.

The Bellaire Approach: Elevated and holistic.
Recovery is all about making those little choices that make you feel safe, like going for a walk with your favourite playlist in the morning, writing in your journal before bed, or getting a massage once a week to reconnect with your body.

We mix top-notch wellness experiences with your recovery journey to help you feel great, body and mind. The key parts of a bigger healing puzzle. Our clients often say that learning to truly care for themselves, without feeling any guilt or shame, was one of the most life-changing parts of their sobriety.

In early recovery, everything can feel loud — the emotions, the memories, the pressure to "do better." Sometimes, the most healing thing isn’t pushing harder. It’s slowing down. It’s tuning in. It’s giving your body a chance to feel safe again.
At Bellaire Recovery in Los Angeles, we believe in the quiet strength of gentle movement.

Substance use often disconnects us from our physical selves. We numb out. We override pain. We lose the ability to recognize what our body is telling us — hunger, fatigue, anxiety, or even joy.
Gentle movement helps reverse that. It’s a way to reenter your body with compassion. There’s no pressure to perform, no goal to “achieve.” Just breath, presence, and motion. This kind of physical engagement activates your parasympathetic nervous system — the part that tells your body it's safe to rest, digest, and heal.
Over time, this regular connection builds inner stability. It gives you something to return to when things feel chaotic. It teaches you to feel emotions without being overwhelmed by them.

At Bellaire Recovery, gentle movement is part of a larger trauma-informed, holistic treatment plan. Alongside therapy, sound baths, art therapy, mindfulness, and peer support, movement becomes another tool for grounding and growth.

Today was a special one for our clients at Bellaire Recovery Center. We took a break from our regular routine and headed out to a local fair in Burbank—and what a day it was!

From the moment we arrived, laughter and excitement filled the air. Our clients enjoyed classic carnival rides, indulged in funnel cakes and corn dogs, and soaked in the warm California sun. For many, this wasn’t just a fun outing—it was a reminder that joy and connection are still very much a part of life in recovery.

Moments like these are more than just breaks from the everyday; they’re powerful steps in rebuilding confidence, forming new bonds, and experiencing the world through a sober lens. Watching our clients smile, laugh, and be fully present was a beautiful testament to the strength and resilience of the recovery journey.

At Bellaire, we believe in whole-person healing—mind, body, and spirit. Recovery isn’t just about breaking free from substances; it’s about rediscovering life.

If you or a loved one is struggling, know that a life full of hope and joy is possible. Reach out to Bellaire Recovery Center today—your new beginning starts here.
