The Traveling Spoon

The Traveling Spoon A creative kitchen for conscious explorers where recipes become roadmaps and flavors spark reflection. Every dish is a map, every ingredient a passport stamp.

Presented by Altered States Edutainment, this page celebrates curiosity, craft, and the art of edible journeys. Welcome to The Traveling Spoon — a kitchen for conscious explorers. 🥄✨

Here, we mix curiosity with creativity by turning everyday recipes into edible adventures. Presented by Altered States Edutainment, this project celebrates the art of transformation: from the food we prepare to the journeys we take within. House Rule #1: Pics are pretty, but recipes feed the tribe. Share your process, not just your plate. Whether you’re remixing a box mix or crafting something wild from scratch, you’re invited to explore flavor, intention, and imagination — one spoonful at a time. Travel wisely. Taste deeply. Lick the spoon at your own risk. 🍄

In this episode, Dr. Elena Koning, Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Psychiatry at Dalhousie University and MAPS Canada volunteer, joins MAPS Canada Podcast host Osheen Dayal to explore the emerging science of psilocybin-assisted therapy, with a particular focus on eating disorders, mental health, and ethical responsibility.

We discuss why psychedelics are not a magic pill, the critical role of integration in creating lasting change, and why healthy skepticism is essential in psychedelic research. Dr. Koning also addresses the risks of sensationalized media narratives, the limits of current evidence, and the ethical challenges facing scientists and clinicians in this rapidly evolving field.

Topics covered:
• Psilocybin & eating disorder research
• Psychedelic therapy vs traditional psychotherapy
• Integration and long-term outcomes
• Ethics, access, and cultural responsibility

Here are two recipes from the test kitchen.
Butterscotch white chocolate fudge sprinkled with toffee, and a batch with walnuts.
And Peanut butter cups: regular and with added peanuts.
With the Peanut butter cups, travel products can easily be added to the chocolate base but with the Butterscotch it's a little more tricky. Unless using one of the white varieties, the product can change the color muddy. Of course we could say f**k it, but we're trying to elevate our game so naw to the meh.
Keep an eye out for the Spotlight Tools for chocolate making.
Final note: after making fudge with travel product I don't think chocolate bars will be the fave anymore.

Hey everyone! Here’s this week’s recipe!
Pumpkin Spice, Girl! Cupcakes are on deck, and you get to choose your adventure in the kitchen. I’m giving you both the From-Scratch route and the From-the-Box shortcut, so you can bake at the speed that fits your week.

The next recipe rolling through the gate is Chip Happens!
Trust me, you’ll want to stick around for that one.

Sorry for the typo for 'Travel Product Per Serving'.
