National Little Black Dress Day, observed annually on September 1, is a bold awareness initiative created by the Black Heart Association to spotlight the impact of heart disease and stroke on Black women.

This day encourages women of African descent to wear their favorite little black dress — a symbol of power, elegance, and resilience — to draw attention to the often overlooked disparities in cardiovascular health. By dressing up, we show up — for ourselves, for our sisters, and for our communities.

💔 Heart Sistas is deeply saddened by the passing of, Celeste Wilson, who suffered a heart attack. Our hearts and prayers are with her family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time. We are grateful for the strength of our community in lifting her family up with love and support.

Celeste’s passing is a reminder of why it is so important to take care of our hearts. Please make sure you get tested and know your numbers,it could save your life.

After experiencing a stroke and two heart attacks, I realized how important it is to have honest conversations—not just with your doctor, but also with your loved ones. Talking about heart health opens the door to awareness, prevention, and action.

Through Sistas, I’m committed to encouraging others to start these life-saving conversations. Knowing your LDL-C matters, especially if you have cardiovascular disease.
