There’s nothing like watching our 10 year old dig deep. Seeing him fight for every play, trust his coaches, lean on his teammates, and trust himself. He doesn’t always get it perfect, but he gives everything he’s got.

It’s something special to watch that mix of boy and becoming. The moments he still looks for your eyes in the crowd, then turns back to lead like he’s been doing this his whole life.

He’s learning what it means to give his best. To show up when it’s hard. To love the game. This kid is special.

Today was a simple reminder that leadership isn’t only about showing up for others. It’s also about slowing down with them.

Our team took time at the nail salon today to pause, reflect, and make two very needed deposits, one into self care and one into gratitude.

As a leader, I’ve learned that creating space for reflection and rest isn’t optional. It’s what keeps our roots healthy. Gratitude is more than a feeling. It’s a practice. It’s looking around at the people beside you and recognizing the beauty in their growth, the heart in their work, and the way they carry your shared mission forward.

Today I’m thankful for this team, for the work we do, and for the quiet moments that remind us why we do it.

This Thanksgiving looked a little different.

Beau, Ry, and Syd were with their other families, and when people asked what we were doing, the answer was simple. Nothing. Just the four of us, ten pounds of crab, and time together that felt easy and real.

Blended families have their own rhythm. Sometimes together, sometimes apart, but always rooted in love that grows in every direction.

Back in 2007, I remember sitting with this quiet but persistent vision to see mental health care in our community grow into something more connected, more excellent, and more human. At the time, it felt like a dream, maybe even too big. But I knew North Port needed more. More support. More collaboration. More heart.

Fast forward to today watching a group of local therapists come together with genuine energy and shared purpose fills me with so much gratitude. What I once hoped for is actually taking shape. We’re not just serving our clients; we’re showing up for each other and for the city we love.

I’m proud and humbled to witness what’s unfolding a network of professionals who care deeply, think creatively, and are willing to do the hard, meaningful work of community healing.

Our next gathering can’t come soon enough. I can’t wait to keep dreaming, building, and growing alongside all of you. 🌿

Ryleigh absolutely lit up the room last night. MVP and a new school record in the 100 backstroke. What a reflection of her grit, her heart, and the quiet discipline she shows every single day. This girl rises. She leads with humility. She shows up for her teammates and never asks for spotlight, which makes moments like this even sweeter. Watching her receive these awards was a reminder of just how rooted she is becoming in who she is. So proud of you Ry. You earned every bit of this and more. 🏆

Arlington felt different. Quiet. Holy. The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier holds someone whose name we will never know, yet they are honored every minute of every day. The Old Guard stands watch in every season. Twenty one steps. Twenty one seconds. Over and over. A living promise: you are not forgotten.

Today is for remembering the ones we know and the ones we don’t.

Happy Birthday, Syd. Fourteen looks good on you. You are steady, strong, and you say what you mean. You love your people hard and you show up every single time. Fierce on the field. Loyal in your heart. And somehow still the funniest one in the room. I love being your mom. Keep being exactly who you are.

It’s been a few weeks since we were here. Life moved fast and took our breath for a bit. Looking back feels grounding. Touring our nation’s capital with the kids reminded us we’re part of something bigger than the busy. And celebrating my mom’s 75th while we were there made it even more meaningful. The moments in between the monuments mattered most. Just being together.

Anniversary Advice: 5 Things Rob Wants You to Know About Marriage.

When we recorded Marriage: From His Perspective for the Rooted & Restored Podcast, I didn’t expect how much Rob’s words would still sit with me.
He didn’t offer advice. He offered truth, the kind that comes from showing up, failing forward, and choosing growth again and again.

Here’s what stood out most:

1️⃣ Marriage is always growing.
It’s not static. It’s alive. Rob said if your marriage isn’t on a “growth track,” it’s in trouble. Love requires constant learning and communication.

2️⃣ Life’s chaos will shape your connection.
Five kids, busy schedules, and spiritual growth have been our biggest teachers. Marriage doesn’t get easier, we just get better at showing up.

3️⃣ A strong marriage fuels everything else.
Rob shared that when our marriage feels stable, his mind and heart do too. Peace at home creates strength everywhere else.

4️⃣ Healing yourself changes everything.
He talked about doing “soul work”, facing his weaknesses instead of blaming me or the moment. The truth is, when one person grows, the whole marriage shifts.

5️⃣ Friendship is the foundation.
Our friendship has carried us through it all. Rob says it’s what reels him back when he drifts, and it’s what keeps our connection real.

After 11 years, we’re still learning how to communicate, repair, and grow. And maybe that’s the real beauty- not getting it right, but growing through it together.

💐✨ Happy Birthday to my beautiful mom, our Mimi! ✨💐

You’ve always been the heartbeat of our family. The one who shows up, loves without limits, and gives even when you’re running on empty. You’ve taught me what strength wrapped in gentleness looks like, what faith in action feels like, and what it means to love with your whole life.

You make ordinary moments holy, in your laughter, your creativity, your prayers, and the way you cheer for all of us. I’m so proud to be your daughter.

We love you deeply, Mom. You are our home. ❤️

Proud of my girl! Captain of her swim team and making waves I only wish I knew how to make at her age. Breaking cycles is powerful, and she’s showing me just how far courage and grace can go.
