DERCO Medical Transport
Are you a safe driver with a heart for helping others? DERCO Medical Transport is looking for reliable, caring individuals to join our team as Non-Emergency Medical Transport (NEMT) Drivers. We provide vital transportation services to members of our community, ensuring they get to their destinations safely and comfortably.
If you have a clean driving record and a desire to make a difference, we want to hear from you. We provide comprehensive in-house training to ensure you are fully certified and confident on the road!
• Status: Full-Time and Part-Time positions available
• Shifts: 12-hour shifts available (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Service Area: Primarily Sarasota and Charlotte counties (with occasional trips to surrounding counties).
What You Will Do:
• Safely transport patients to and or from medical appointments, hospitals, and their homes.
• Assist patients with boarding and exiting the vehicle.
• Safely operate and secure wheelchairs and stretchers.
• Provide friendly, compassionate, and professional customer service.
What We Offer (Full In-House Training provided):
You don't need to have all your certifications to apply! We will help you achieve and complete the following training in-house:
• CPR & First Aid Certification
• Passenger Assistance Safety Training (PASS)
• Stretcher and Wheelchair Operations and Securement Training
• Alzheimer’s and Dementia Training
• HIPAA Compliance Training
Requirements:
• Must be at least 23 years of age (for commercial insurance purposes).
• Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record (minimal infractions may be considered).
• Must be able to pass a Level 2 background check.
• Ability to physically assist clients and handle wheelchairs/stretchers.
• Healthcare experience is not strictly required, but very strongly encouraged!

There is nothing more rewarding than knowing we helped someone get to the care they truly need. ❤️

When a local skilled facility couldn’t find transport for a patient headed to Tampa General Hospital for life-changing treatment, they gave us a shout.
We knew we had to step up. Shortly after that phone call, our van was at their facility.
