Christina Rosen and I are offering a NBCC approved supervision training this year. You can get all 45 hours needed for the LCMHCS or 10 hours needed for renewal. I hope everyone is well and coping as best you can. Christina Rosen and I are offering a NBCC approved supervision training. If you attend all the training sessions, you will gain all 45 hours needed for the LCMHCS credential. You can also attend individual sessions to gain the amount of CEs you need. Hey y'all!
I'm offering a 2-hour, virtual NCSAPPB and NBCC approved CE: Moving Through Addiction to Liberation: Liberation Psychology in Substance Use Treatment on December 17 from 1-3pm.

In this training, instructor will cover the tenets of liberation psychology, intersectionality, and ways to incorporate these tenets in substance use treatment. Participants will learn about the history of liberation psychology and important interventions used in liberation psychology. Instructor will facilitate discussion related to oppression in substance use treatment and how liberation psychology can address this oppression. Instructor will invite participants to think critically about the current structure of substance use treatment and how liberation psychology can shift this structure. Participants will have the opportunity to practice integrating liberation psychology into their current practice.
Objectives include: Discussing elements of liberation psychology, applying liberation psychology and intersectionality to substance use treatment, tangible interventions clinician can implement to incorporate liberation psychology into substance use therapy.

Counselors who work with the gender diverse community need to be competent and aware of the targeting of this community. In this training, we will discuss social justice, gatekeeping, working with adults and teenagers, and how counselors can show up in this revolution.
