Click "About" to see a schedule of Paul's classes. Thank you for visiting my page. My name is Paul Menard. I am a student and teacher of yoga. I do not claim to be a wise yogi or guru, but feel that my experiences can be helpful to those new to yoga or looking for additional insight. If you are interested in learning more about me, my classes, and where I am teaching, you can read more using the links above. I began studying yoga in 2002 and have maintained a regular practice ever since. My background in dance gives me a profound appreciation for the intricacy of the form that the Yoga tradition affords. In addition to yoga, I have a passion for education. I completed my master's degree in Adult Education and Training in early 2011 to compliment my career as a learning and development professional which I am now utilizing in current teacher training programs at Karuna Center for Yoga and Healing Arts and as a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider (YACEP). I am a Registered Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance, having completed 500 hours of advanced study at Karuna Center for Yoga and Healing Arts with Eileen Muir, whom I consider to be my primary teacher. In addition to yoga, I am a Five-Element Shiatsu practitioner. I specialize in working with my clients to assist in relieving pain; whether that be physical or emotional pain. Five-Element Shiatsu is a form of Asian bodywork that utilizes massage techniques and acupuncture points and meridians. Shiatsu is an excellent modality for general care and for releasing, relaxing, and managing pain. Shiatsu does so by moving and balancing the body's Qi (pronounced "chee"). In addition to Shiatsu I like to incorporate cupping, Gua Sha (scraping), and moxibustion into treatments. Click the Shiatsu services link above for a menu of services.
