I hurt my lower back doing a traditional bodybuilding lift. The year was 2009.

At the time, I thought I was doing everything right—pushing hard, lifting heavy, chasing the gains. But one wrong move brought my world to a halt.

I went to five different doctors, hoping for answers. I got none. Each visit left me more frustrated, until one day, a doctor recommended spinal fusion within minutes of meeting me.

That was my breaking point—not just physically, but mentally. I realized no one was going to solve this for me. The injury wasn’t just in my back—it was in my approach to movement, my understanding of my body, and my mindset.

So, I went deeper.

I asked myself the hard questions:

What got me here?
What do I really need to heal?
Am I ready to take responsibility for my body and my life?

The honest conversations weren’t easy, but they were the turning point. It wasn’t just about healing my back—it was about transforming my entire approach to health, movement, and life.

That’s when Twice as Fit was born

⭐️ Strength Goals - Body Weight Bad Ass ⭐️

We get asked all the time, what’s better for getting stronger, lifting weights or body weight?

-Lifting Weights - Creating Force
-Body Weight - Putting Force through the Body

Strength Goals are Specific to your Movement and Health Plans. If you want to lift a certain weight, practice Weight Lifting. Weight lifting is a helpful piece of the puzzle.

To complement weight lifting, we encourage and recommend Body Weight Badassery.

Consider this, you are sprinting full speed, imagine how much weight and force you are putting through your body with each step? It has been studied that at Maximum sprint effort, we put 5 to 10 times the amount of our body weight into the ground with each step. Do you think you could lift that amount of weight?

For Overall Strength and Function, we always recommend putting Force through the body to complement weight training. We want to strengthen our bones, ligaments, tendons, and fascia with our muscles.

Jumping is a simple and effective way to strengthen the body and put force through the body.

As Health Care adapts and evolves, it has been exciting to be on the front lines for the past 10 years. It has given us great Experience and Perspective on Exercise, Health, and how to consult and assess people with their Exercise & Health Plan

This is a perfect opportunity to address some of the CAUSES of the Current Health Crisis. This crisis didn’t start in March; this has been an ongoing issue for decades now. Some of the major culprits have been Heart Disease, Cancer, Diabetes - Chronic degenerative diseases. These conditions require lifestyle management and taking responsibility ; a bandaid will not help.

SYMPTOMS scream loud and they demand attention, and although acknowledging them can be helpful, we have to dig deeper to get to the CAUSE. The Health professional of Today listens to the story around the symptoms - how did this person get here? How have they been living their life? It’s time to Empower the Client to take responsibility and understand their health.
