You do NOT need to give away 30% of your Disability Tax Credit.

There are companies that charge a percentage of your refund to “help” you apply.

Here’s what actually matters:

The Disability Tax Credit is based on medical eligibility — and must be certified by a qualified medical practitioner.

Not everyone can do this.

As a Nurse Practitioner, this is my role.

✔️ Assess functional impairment based on CRA criteria
✔️ Determine if you medically qualify
✔️ Complete the required certification accurately

I also provide supporting documentation and ancillary services when appropriate:

✔️ Accessible parking permit forms
✔️ Assistive device program forms
✔️ Caregiver-related documentation

Flat fee.
No commissions.

Because your benefit should stay with you.

WHY INSIGHT DISABILITY SOLUTIONS EXISTS

This work was built from what is seen every day in practice.

People are not being denied supports because they don’t qualify —
they are being delayed or missed because of access and documentation.

There is a gap.

A gap in access to providers.
A gap in time.
A gap in understanding how these forms need to be completed properly.

Medical forms are often the barrier.

Many providers are overwhelmed,
many don’t have the time,
and many are not familiar with how detailed and specific these forms need to be.

Meanwhile —
parents, family members, caregivers, and patients are left trying to navigate a system that is not always easy to access.

Insight Disability Solutions was created to help fill that gap.

To improve access.
To support proper medical documentation.
To ensure individuals are not missing supports they may be eligible for.

Most people misunderstand the Disability Tax Credit.

It is not about the diagnosis.
It is about how your condition affects daily life — consistently, and over time.

The CRA evaluates functional impact, not simply medical labels.

The difference between approval and denial often comes down to how the documentation is completed.

At Insight Disability Solutions, I provide structured, comprehensive Disability Tax Credit assessments aligned with CRA criteria, focusing on:

• Mobility limitations
• Mental health impact
• Cumulative impairment
• Therapy time requirements
• Impact on basic activities of daily living

Virtual services available across Ontario & Nova Scotia.

If you’ve been denied — or told you don’t qualify — it may be worth a second review.

Not every disability looks obvious.

And that’s exactly why so many people never apply for the Disability Tax Credit.

Eligibility is not based on how someone looks.
It’s based on how a condition affects daily functioning.

Two people can have the same diagnosis — and experience completely different levels of impairment.

The difference matters.

At Insight Disability Solutions, assessments are conducted through a structured, healthcare-led process focused on functional impact — not assumptions.

If you’re unsure whether you qualify, clarity starts with proper assessment.

How long does a T2201 take once it’s submitted?

Most Disability Tax Credit (T2201) applications are reviewed by the CRA within 𝟴–𝟭𝟮 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲, 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗱𝗼𝗰𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱.

Delays often occur when:
• Functional limitations aren’t clearly described
• Eligibility criteria aren’t addressed correctly
• Additional clarification or reassessment is required

This is where many applications stall — not because someone doesn’t qualify, but because the form wasn’t completed using 𝗖𝗥𝗔-𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗴𝗲.

At Insight Disability Solutions, this is our expertise.

What does “functional impact” actually mean?

When eligibility is assessed for disability-related supports, the focus isn’t only on a diagnosis — it’s on how a condition affects daily life over time.

This can include difficulty with:
• Mobility, balance, or endurance
• Memory, concentration, or processing information
• Communication, vision, or hearing
• Personal care, safety, or independent living
• Participation in work, school, or daily activities

These impacts don’t always show on tests — but they matter.

At Insight Disability Solutions, we assess and document functional limitations clearly, accurately, and respectfully so forms reflect real-world experience.

Disability Tax Credit applications aren’t decided by diagnosis alone.

They’re reviewed based on how functional limitations are assessed and described.

Our role is to support 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿, 𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗼𝗰𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 using the right verbiage for CRA interpretation.

While outcomes can never be guaranteed, clarity and precision matter.

SUCCESS STORY

A client came to us after their Disability Tax Credit (DTC) application was 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱.

Their original T2201 had been completed primarily based on diagnosis, with limited explanation of how the condition affected daily functioning. The CRA denied the application.

The client then worked with Insight Disability Solutions.

We completed a comprehensive 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, documenting how the condition affected day-to-day activities, consistency, and cumulative limitations over time — using CRA-aligned functional language.

The client reapplied.

✔️ The Disability Tax Credit was approved
✔️ The approval was granted retroactively
✔️ The client received over $20,000 in tax credits

This outcome was based on the client’s individual circumstances. Results vary depending on functional impact, tax history, and CRA assessment. Approval and amounts are not guaranteed.

This is why how the form is written matters.

Many people assume the Disability Tax Credit is only for severe or visible disabilities. That’s not true.

The CRA looks at how a medical condition affects 𝗱𝗮𝘆-𝘁𝗼-𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 not just the diagnosis written on a chart.

Chronic illness. Mental health conditions. Neurological disorders. Chronic pain or fatigue. Mobility, endurance, or cognitive limitations. Children, adults, seniors — and caregivers applying on someone else’s behalf.

If daily tasks take longer, require assistance, or can’t be done consistently, you may be eligible.

At Insight Disability Solutions, we complete Nurse Practitioner–led functional assessments and medical documentation aligned with CRA criteria — delivered virtually across Ontario and Nova Scotia.

You don’t need to wait for tax season.
You don’t need a “perfect” diagnosis.
You need your functional reality documented properly.

There’s a common misconception that the Disability Tax Credit has to be completed at tax time.
It doesn’t.

The DTC can be applied for 𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗹𝘆. While some people choose to align their application with filing taxes, it’s often better to complete the medical assessment 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗿𝘂𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗱. The tax-season scramble can add pressure and doesn’t always lead to the strongest application.

Strong DTC applications are based on 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁, not just diagnoses — how a condition affects daily activities over time, even with treatment.

I provide 𝗡𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗿–𝗹𝗲𝗱, 𝘃𝗶𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗧𝗖 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗢𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗼 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗮 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗮, focusing on accurate, CRA-aligned functional documentation.

✔ Virtual assessments
✔ Functional, not diagnosis-only
✔ No need to wait for tax season

Sometimes the best time to apply is simply 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗹𝘆.

The Disability Tax Credit is not approved based on a diagnosis alone.

This is one of the most common misconceptions I see.

The DTC is assessed by the CRA based on 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗮 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗱𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 not simply what the diagnosis is called.

The form requires:
• Clear documentation of functional limitations
• Evidence that the impairment is prolonged and ongoing
• Language that aligns with CRA eligibility criteria
• Medical insight into how daily life is affected, most of the time, despite treatment

This is why many applications are delayed or denied — not because someone “doesn’t qualify,” but because the 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗼𝗰𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁.

This is where a focused, Nurse Practitioner–led functional assessment makes a difference.

📄 The wording matters.
📄 The structure matters.
📄 The medical context matters.

Insight Disability Solutions provides virtual functional assessments and medical documentation support specifically for disability-related applications, including the Disability Tax Credit.

Where health insights become eligibility.
