Our mission is to build a strong network of/for parents and caregivers; through providing education, information and emotional support. We meet at 11am the first Saturday of every month @ 40700 W. Ten Mile Rd., Novi, MI 48375 (In the parish hall at Holy Cross Episcopal Church). Our group is a safe place to talk, laugh, and share your reality with others who "get it". Our purpose:
• Source of emotional and social support for parents of children with
social emotional, behavioral, or mental health challenges.
• To offer a safe and welcoming place for parents with common life
situations, experiences, and challenges to meet.
• A place to connect families to share ideas, expertise and
resources.
• To focus on the child and not the diagnosis
Our Goals:
• To help families find resources
• Build safe relationships that can carry on outside of group
meetings
• To provide an environment that is open, honest and non-
judgmental
• Empower and educate families to advocate for their children's
rights and needs
• To give families the tools to manage various behaviors
• To help teach parents to recognize/interpret their children's non-
verbal cues, to de-escalate behaviors
