How to Train Through Injury

Injury doesn’t always mean stopping —
but it does mean changing the approach.

Mild and more significant injuries require different training strategies, and knowing the difference helps you keep progressing without setbacks.

If you’re unsure how to train safely through injury, you don’t have to guess.

🚨 Medicare Patients — Did You Know?
If you're on Medicare or Medicare Advantage, you can’t pay out of pocket to see the physical therapist you want — even if you're willing and able.

That’s where HR 4204 – The Medicare Patient Choice Act comes in. ✅
This bill would:

✔️ Give you more access to care
✔️ Let you choose your own PT
✔️ Support small PT practices
✔️ Prioritize patient-centered care over insurance-driven limits

🗣️ We need YOUR voice to help make this happen.

📞 Call your Representative (don’t email!) and ask them to support HR 4204.
👉 Find them here: house.gov/representatives/find-your-representative

📍If you live in 28465 or 28461, your Rep is David Rouzer → (910) 253-6111.
Ask him to co-sponsor HR 4204 – The Medicare Patient Choice Act!

Barefoot season = heel pain season?
If your first few steps in the morning feel like walking on broken glass… you’re not alone.
That classic stabbing heel pain is a common sign of plantar fasciitis—and it’s more common in summer when we ditch the supportive shoes.

Here’s what actually works (and what to avoid) when you’re dealing with it:

🛌 A temporary night splint + easing off the painful stuff
🦶 Foot strength > passive stretching
🧘‍♂️ Toe yoga, arch doming, and slow heel raises
💥 Stretch your calves, not the fascia
🧊 Skip the ice—it numbs the pain but slows healing
🌿 And yes… you can walk barefoot again—just build back slowly

You don’t have to live with heel pain.
You just need the right strategy to heal and move forward.

👇 Save this post or share it with someone who needs foot relief this summer.

MFD vs. Cupping — what’s the difference anyway?
They might look similar, but these two techniques have totally different goals and benefits.

Whether you’re dealing with muscle tension, pain, or just want to feel more mobile and energized, understanding the difference can help you choose the right treatment.

1. Complete rest of a tendon decreases it’s ability to handle load.

2. Excessive stretching to most tendons only serves to add compressive loads that are actually detrimental to the tendon’s health.

3. I love a good massage and so do tired, sore muscles, but a painful tendon is telling you that it is already overloaded and irritated, so adding this level of pressure can just increase its irritability and pain.
