Carl Rogers

Carl Rogers I am considered by many as one of the most influential Psychologist of the 20th century. I'm regarded as one of the most eminent thinkers in psychology.

I am best known for developing the psychotherapy and one of the founders of Humanistic Psychology. I am Carl Rogers and I am American Psychologist and also one of the founders of Humanistic Psychology (or client-centered approach). I'm considered to be one of the founding fathers of psychotherapy research. I was born on January 8, 1902 in Oak Park Illinois in Chicago. I had along run in the field of Psychology but unfortunately in 1987 I suffered a fall that resulted resulted in a fractured pelvis. The operation went well but my pancreas failed the next night and I died a few days later after having a heart attack. I attended the University of Wisconsin in 1929 but my interest in psychology and psychiatry originated while I was a student at Union Theological Seminary, New York City in 1926. After two years I left the seminary and took M.A (1928) and Ph.D (1931) in Columbia University's Teachers College. I worked in University of Rochester (1935-1940) as a lecturer. I also worked in Ohio State University (1940) as a professor. I am also a professor in University of Chicago (1945-1957) and lastly I was a professor in University of Wisconsin (1957-1963).
