That’s a wrap on 2025 and for East Tennessee Midwifery 🥹♥️ These numbers represent trust, choice, and deeply individualized care. Some births unfolded as planned, others required transfer and additional care and support, but all were met with presence, advocacy, and respect. As this chapter comes to a close, I’m holding so much gratitude for every family who allowed me in to their birth spaces and stories. Thank you for your trust, your strength, and for allowing me to continue the sacred work of welcoming new life. While East Tennessee Midwifery is closing, the work continues! Every East Tennessee Midwifery family I was honored to walk with in 2025 has welcomed their baby earthside! With those final births, I close the tender chapter of my solo practice and step fully into the next, supporting families and catching babies over at Solace Midwifery!

Families like this one, who chose me again and again amid so many wonderful options, made that season unspeakably sweet. Their trust was the heartbeat of that work. I’m so proud of what I built, of the care I offered, of the lives I was invited to witness.

But I’m not going anywhere! There’s a special kind of magic in the way a father holds his baby for the very first time ✨ Steady hands, a full heart, and a whole new world unfolding in a single breath. He is everything a new baby could hope to land in. 🤍 And then there’s the sweetness of big sister leaning in close, already settling into her new role with so much love.

From the very first cry to those tiny toes in the sling, I’ll always be grateful for the privilege of standing beside this family and watching their love grow right in front of me. Gah, they are just so precious to me. 🥹

Born to the sound of soft whispers and wide-eyed wonder. ✨ Warm water and his sweet mother’s hands holding him steady, siblings gathered close, watching with quiet awe as their baby brother took his first breath. Nothing sweeter than helping my best friend of 20 years bring both of her daughters into the world. ✨
Our friendship has weathered many seasons: middle school, high school, college, cross-country moves, and now motherhood. Of all the things we’ve shared, walking with her through her pregnancies and births has been the greatest honor of all. 💕
Two years ago, I watched them become parents for the very first time. Full of wonder, courage, and brand-new love. And now I’ve seen them do it again, this time with deeper wisdom, unwavering trust in each other, and a tenderness only time can grow. ♥️
This time, Dad caught his baby girl with the softest, most tender hands, and I got to stand beside them in awe all over again.
From childhood sleepovers to welcoming your babies earthside… being your midwife, and forever your friend, is one of my life’s sweetest gifts. 🫶🌸 Love you all so much!

What a joy and honor to witness my beautiful, strong friend bring her daughter into the world — sunny side up (direct occiput posterior) and with a triple nuchal cord! 🌞 This little one’s entrance was a powerful reminder of the strength and resilience both mother and baby hold. And just look at this radiant mama — truly beaming and smiling ear-to-ear after all she accomplished! From those first cries to her newborn exam, and even a little placenta tour, every moment told the story of birth’s incredible wisdom and design.
