From Thick Fit to Slim Fit!!
Even with the extra weight, I tried to remain active and make good food choices.
Before the end of last year and being hospitalized, I decided to give up sugar. All sugar intake including natural sugar so that meant, I only consumed lean meats, healthy fats, nuts and seeds and a TON of veggies that were non starchy…
It wasn’t meant to be a long term plan but a plan to help me reintroduce my body to the proper nutrients that worked for MY (keyword) condition.
In the past 6 months, I’ve lost 35lbs! Some of it was health related but most of it was diet and exercise.
My cheats now consist of whole grains (I’m a rice and gravy girl by nature and territory), low sugar fruits like berries and my fav watermelon (in moderation of course) and every now and then, I’ll have junk like cookies and chocolate but those are soooo few and far between. Also my portion sizes have DRASTICALLY changed!!
Overall, I’m doing much better health wise. Most recent blood work all came back positive including the most scariest of them all! I’m on this journey for life! It’s never about looking good or meeting a certain body standard. It has always and will always be about doing what is best for these old bones!
