Let’s talk microneedling depths ✨ Why is microneedling an art?

Microneedling creates controlled micro-injuries in the skin, but the depth of those tiny channels is where the magic really happens. ⚠️ But caution! Deeper isn’t always better. In fact, going too deep in the wrong area can cause more harm than help. The needle depth is adjusted based on your skin’s thickness and goals. That’s why microneedling at Mosaic Skin Studio is always a custom experience that starts with a consultation.

Simply put, different depths target different areas, and different areas require different depths.
- 0.25–0.5mm → Epidermis: great for product absorption, fine texture, and delicate areas like the under eyes.
- 1–1.5mm → Papillary dermis: where collagen + elastin are stimulated and ideal for fine lines, scarring, and overall skin rejuvenation.
- 2–2.5mm → Reticular dermis: used selectively for deep scars or smile lines (but only where appropriate!)
