Devon and Payge went out to grab us some ice cream from The Ice Cream Shoppe—let’s just say the transport of that ice cream back to base was flawless… just like their patient care. The photo-taking skills, though… might need a little work, ladies 😄

A huge shoutout to The Ice Cream Shoppe for their generosity in donating to our incredibly dedicated staff. Your support means more than you know!

Spent some time at the Whitefield Fire Dept Central Station tonight going over equipment and ambulance operations for some of the newer members. We work closely with first responder services throughout the area every day and we depend on each other for support when things get busy. We appreciate the invitation to tonight's training and are very thankful for their service to the community.

Congratulations to the Vice President of our Board of Directors.

Vassalboro Town Manager Aaron Miller earns prestigious state certification

The Town of Vassalboro is proud to announce that Town Manager Aaron Miller has officially earned the designation of Certified Maine Manager (CMM) from the Maine Town, City and County Management Association (MTCMA).

This certification identifies Miller as one of a select group of local government leaders in Maine who have demonstrated a high level of professional excellence and a steadfast commitment to public service.

To achieve this status, Miller met rigorous requirements, including years of administrative experience and over 240 hours of specialized training in areas such as leadership, ethics, and municipal finance.

“Aaron is now one of the select few certified Town, City or County Managers in the State of Maine,” stated Suzie Paradis, Certification Chairman for the MTCMA. “The Town of Vassalboro can be proud to have its manager certified.”

In addition to the professional prestige, Miller’s certification offers tangible benefits to the community, including eligibility for a 10 percent discount on the town’s public officials liability insurance premium.

Miller will be formally presented with his certificate at the 46th Managers Interchange event on March 27, 2026, at the Hollywood Hotel, in Bangor.

The MTCMA Certification Program is designed to recognize managers who have demonstrated the ability to conduct the affairs of a municipal or county jurisdiction at the highest professional level. It emphasizes continuous learning and adherence to the ICMA Code of Ethics to better serve Maine communities.

Today we had the pleasure of hosting the Waterville Sunrise Rotary Club at our Waterville Base. This community-focused service organization supports many important local, regional, and international projects.

Kevin, our Director of Education, spoke with the group about Delta’s operations and the many services we provide to support our communities.

A special thank you to our primary dispatcher, January, who put together a wonderful breakfast for everyone.

We truly appreciate the time the Rotary Club spent with us this morning and the work they do to make our community stronger.

18/02/2026

In January we transported 761 patients by ambulance - 326 in our EMS division and 435 transferred between facilities. We covered 99% of EMS requests and 97% of transfer requests. A network of other services, local and distant, help out when we're delayed or unavailable.

A big thank you to our crews and dispatchers for making that all happen, and thanks to all our mutual aid partners for the assistance. 2026 is off to a busy start!

Our thoughts and hearts are with the members and families of the Belgrade Fire Department.

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of active Firefighter William "Bill" Avery, who passed away following a sudden medical event on February 11, 2026.
Bill joined our ranks in 2022 and quickly became a vital part of our team. Whether it was responding to calls at all hours or stepping up for community PR events, Bill’s dedication was unmatched. He never hesitated to take on a task, no matter how big or small, and his commitment to the citizens of Belgrade and beyond was evident in everything he did.
Bills Service to the department and community will not be forgotten, and a hole in our ranks will be deeply felt.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Bill’s wife, his children, and his entire family and circle of friends during this difficult time.
Rest easy, Bill. We have the watch from here. Town of Belgrade, Maine

📰 MSP Investigating Fatal Crash Involving Two MaineDOT Workers 📰

On Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at approximately 9:37 AM, the Maine State Police responded to a fatal pedestrian crash on I-95 southbound near mile marker 127 in Waterville. The Maine Department of Transportation had closed the traveling lane at the end of the southbound on-ramp from Kennedy Memorial Drive using cones and a posted stop sign as part of bridge construction work, with MaineDOT workers present at the site. The initial investigation indicates the operator of a gray Kia minivan failed to stop at the posted stop sign and then attempted to enter the passing lane (lane one) of I-95 southbound, where the minivan was struck by a tractor-trailer which was traveling southbound.

As a result of the collision, the minivan was forced into the work zone, striking three Maine Department of Transportation workers who were working at the site. The impact propelled two of the workers over the bridge and onto Kennedy Memorial Drive below. The two workers were pronounced deceased at the scene. They have been identified as 60-year-old James Brown of Waterville, and 51-year-old Dwayne Campbell of Waterville. A third worker was transported to a local hospital with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening. The operator of the minivan, 34-year-old Samantha Tupper of Augusta had two young children in the vehicle. The children were not injured. Tupper was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured.

Due to the crash, all lanes of I-95 southbound were shut down for several hours while the Maine State Police Crash Reconstruction Unit conducted its investigation. One lane of I-95 southbound has since reopened. Additionally, Kennedy Memorial Drive was shut down westbound, and one lane was shut down eastbound for several hours to allow emergency response and investigation. The crash remains under investigation. The Maine State Police is being assisted by the Waterville Police Department, Waterville Fire Department, Waterville Public Works, Delta Ambulance and Dostie’s Towing.

The Maine State Police extend our condolences to the family, coworkers and loved ones of the MaineDOT workers impacted by this fatal crash.
