Tabono is a virtual-based health and wellness community where we work together in unity to strengthen the confidence within our body.​​​​​​​​ Tabono was curated by Integrative Health Practitioner and NASM-certified personal trainer, Moriah McKiernan-Allen. Tabono centers people that are Black/African-American and who identify as either non-binary, transgender, intersex, and cis-gendered women. We

also welcome all people who are actively working to dismantle their own internal belief systems and the restrictive societal boxes that will allow people to live fully expressed regardless of gender, age, race, religion, sexuality, height, physical or mental ability, economic status, or body size. At Tabono we empower clients to take their health into their own hands by; cultivating a relationship with themself, interavtive education, direct action, and community connection and support. Our focus is to support clients address the underlying root causes of dis-ease and/or undesirable symptoms by discovering any nutritional deficiencies and replacing them, finding any toxins and removing them, and rebalancing their health so they can live in a healthy and happy body.

We have been inundated. We have been programmed to believe the absolute lie that our bodies are wrong and we are wrong and we must do things to change and fix ourselves. ​​​​​​​​​I call bu****it. ​​​​​​​​​I know I’m not alone in that.
I’m excited about it. Fired up. So pleased to see the way we as a society are beginning to wake up and discard that lens. The version of reality that says we are wrong and our bodies are shameful has Got. To. Go.
If you’re over that version of reality, and yet you also know that you’d like to feel better in your body, you’d like to feel healthier, you’d like to understand what your body is trying to communicate to you on a day to day basis… We should talk.
There is nothing wrong with you.
Your body is perfect as it is and it’s doing it’s best to be your friend and co-create an amazing life with you. Sometimes we need some support to sync up with our bodies so we are on the same team.
That’s what I’m all about.

Don’t get caught up in the hype…​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Maybe you’re like me and you accidentally landed on this planet with a head on your shoulders that doesn’t quite seem the same as everyone else around you.

If so, I’d like to drop you a friendly reminder that you are f-ing dope.
See it how you see it. Don’t buy into the hype.

This culture, if you can call it that, this society we’re living in, has been flooding us with so many points of view and opinions about how we should be and live, how our bodies should look and work, and I for one, am so over it.

You’re different. That’s one of the most special and amazing things about you.
You don’t need to get caught up in the hype to feel good.
(You probably feel better when you ignore the hype, right?)

That doesn’t mean though, that we are alone in this.
Sometimes we all still need a little backup.
Sometimes even those of us who think differently, feel a lot better when we have some community around us who think our weirdness is magic.

I am happy to have made my life about creating this kind of space…
Different, unique, special, magical, weird…whatever the heck you want to call it.
We deserve spaces where we feel welcome, where we’re allowed to be ourselves, where we’re celebrated for it.

The fitness industry is severely lacking in this area.
So I’m filling that gap.

But downright turned off and sick of the same ‘ol same ‘ol when it comes to making a change or getting support?
Yo, I hear you.
I’d like to acknowledge how powerful it is to simply realize that you desire something greater with your body and that you feel ready to feel good. *as in healthy, strong, flexible, capable, well, or sexy ;)
It’s time for a new approach.
A strategy, game-plan, or framework that empowers you rather than cuts you down so you follow through out of guilt and shame.
A way that takes into account all of who you are, not just what the scale says or what your caloric intake allotment might be. (yuck)
THERE IS ANOTHER WAY.

One of the weirdest things about me is how I interact with my body. ​​​​​​​​​I like trying weird stuff out with my body. ​​​​​​​​​…like jumping on my trampoline, or trying new moves in the gym.
…like seeing what my body can do, how it can move, what I’m actually capable of, when I’m alone and no one can see how weird I am.
Things that make me go, “Whaaaat?!”

What’s required to let myself do that?
Either I’m alone, or I’m in a judgment free space.

If you already think you’re weird, it makes sense that you don’t want to hang out in judgy gyms, or succumb to social pressures to eat, live, or be with your body in some ‘right’ way.

That leaves the same two options, either you figure out how to care for and support your body alone, or you find a judgment free space where you can be weird and also try new things.

Hi, I made that space for you.

Do you feel like your body is letting you down? ​​​​​​​​​Have you been feeling disconnected from your body? ​​​​​​​​​I know some people even feel like their body has betrayed them.
Here’s is a little message I invite you to say to your body:
“Hey body,
Hi.
I know you have an innate wisdom.
I know you are aware of so much.
I know you speak your own language and I am ready to understand what you’re trying to communicate and learn how to best support you.
You are doing a great job.
I’m choosing to be on your team from now on and never again against you.
Thank you for carrying me through this life.
I’m grateful for you.”
How did that feel?

This is a simple process, it may even feel silly at first, and it’s only one of many ways that you can begin to build that trust and connection with your body that it’s been wanting.
