This time, they collaborated with Casa De Paz and creators had opportunities both to film videos reading letters from people currently in ICE detention centers and to write postcards to detainees as well.

Day 2 of our Latine Voices for Democracy gathering was so impactful for our cohort!

The morning kicked off with a panel, El Pueblo Unido Jamás Será Vencido: Latine Media in the Face of Fascism, moderated by and featuring from and from .

We are grateful to Blair McGregor and Carrie Marks from who joined us after the panel for session on best practices for the platform.

The afternoon was all about experimentation! Curly Velasquez and Alison Safa led a masterclass on short-form video content, sharing what’s worked for their pages as well as tips & tricks for the cohort to hone in on their content. Both our team and the LatiNation team spent the rest of the day working with each founder to come up with an idea for a short-form video. By the end of the day each participant was able to put into practice everything they had learned that day into filming and publishing their content!

We want to give a special thank you to LatiNation and their team - , Bruno Ulloa, , Curly Velasquez, Alison Safa, Tess Bay (and more!) for hosting us for the day and lending so much of their expertise to the programming as well.

Our in-person gathering last week for our Latine Voices for Democracy cohort was a blast!

Day 1 was hosted by Snap Inc., thank you so much Lindsey Heisser for making it possible for us to enjoy such a beautiful space!

Our programming included Snap School, a fireside chat with (), as well as an impact measurement training with Valeria Angel () and pitch coaching with (). We’re so grateful to all of our session leaders who shared their experiences with our cohort!

Our day concluded with 1:1 sessions with experts across media, VC and philanthropy. A special thank you to Maggie Neilson, Deborah Rumbo, Adriana Embus, Cecilia Sanchez, Andy Riemer, Elisabeth Tuttass, Qiana Patterson, jose d lopez, Carmen Palafox, Shrina Kurani, Chad Gordon, Bonnie Oliva-Porter, and Lucy Flores for workshopping our cohort’s stories and challenges with them.
