Amadou Bagayoko tragically passed away on April 4, 2025, and it is Mariam Doumbia’s wish (after the mourning period) to return to the stage with a new album that the couple composed and recorded together over the past seven years. The solar power of is back with the release of the first single from their new eponymous album, “L’amour à la folie.” The new single “L’amour à la folie” is an outpouring of Afro-rock riffs, psychedelic blues, Afro beat and electro-funk grooves that blurs boundaries, pierces hearts, and transcends souls. “L’amour à la folie” is transmitted by incandescent music that’s as joyful as it is unifying.

Oakland Restaurant Collective supports, protects, and promotes the Oakland hospitality industry. With the power of our collective community, they’re building strong networks to provide vital resources to our local businesses while fighting for important changes within our City and County. ORC is dedicated to bring local and national attention to the diverse hospitality offerings of Oakland and supporting the efforts of the Oakland Chamber of Commerce. The birth of ORC marks the first time a group of restaurants have banded together to take matters into their own hands. ORC is self-funded with the help of its amazing partners such as Visit Oakland, the Oakland Chamber of Commerce and OpenTable. 

ORC is the first collective of its kind in any American city. While several cities have Restaurant Associations, the Collective has been formed, managed and supported by a group of restaurant owners and operators who are working hard to change negative narratives, lead advocacy/community outreach and celebrate the joys of dining out in Oakland.
