There’s always something for us to work on. Right?
I often use the analogy of life being like a garden. There is always work to do if we want to maintain it. And if you don’t mind me mixing metaphors, sometimes I wish I could put life on cruise control and set it and forget it.
But life doesn’t really work that way, at least not for very long, does it?
This week’s blog post is kind of about that.
This morning, I was reading the Exodus story. In Exodus 12, a few things got me thinking. One of them was how many times God instructed the Israelites not to have any yeast in the house for Passover.
I mean, it was a lot.
So it got me thinking: why so much talk about yeast?
I came to the conclusion that it was not really about leavening. It was about leaving the old ways behind so they could step into a new life. But with change comes surrender, and that is often hard to do. Yet, it is necessary.
If you’ve been sensing that something in your life needs to shift, this one may be worth reading. In the article, I’m reflecting on Exodus 12, change, surrender, and the question: What is God asking you to release?
