Portraits of Humanity (PoH), a student-led initiative based at the University of Washington, is inviting individuals living with Lyme disease—as well as other chronic illnesses or disabilities—to participate in a powerful storytelling project.
Volunteers will be paired with future healthcare professionals for three one-on-one interviews, conducted either in person or via Zoom, to share their lived experiences.
Each participant receives a personalized written narrative and an original art piece as a gift. With consent, their story may also be featured on PoH’s website to help raise awareness and foster empathy in healthcare education.
The time commitment is 4–5 hours over several weeks, with flexible scheduling. Apply by October 4th. and learn more at portraitsofhumanity.org.

So every 6 months or so my husband and I get our blood analyzed. The microscopist continues to use adjectives such as excellent,, good, very good, great and amazing. She is even seeing evidence of polymers "collapsing!" I do have some heavy metals but I've never been very intentional about cleansing them. It's nice to feel well AND have visual confirmation of progress.

A large variety of medications have noticeable effects on patients’ gut microbiomes that may last for years, according to a recent study in the online journal mSystems. Researchers analyzed stool samples and prescription records of 2,500 Estonians and found that antibiotics, antidepressants, beta-blockers, and benzodiazepines (commonly prescribed for anxiety) all made changes to the makeup of gut bacteria that could still be seen years later. Most microbiome studies only consider current medications, but previous prescription use can matter just as much, the researchers concluded. Source: WORLD Magazine
