ANNOUNCEMENT: This hands on, interactive course is designed for physical therapists, physical therapy assistants, and other sports medicine professionals. It focuses on an integrated approach to assessing and treating the lumbar spine, SiJ, and pelvis along the continuum from rehabilitation to elite performance. Various manual therapy techniques are presented in a practical system that encorporates exercise progression from the clinic, to the weight room, and on to the the court or field.

Course Description: A practical system is presented integrating Muscle Energy Techniques, Osteopathic Manual Therapy, Joint Mobilization/Manipulation.
Other manual techniques (McKenzie, Mulligan, and Maitland) are incorporated into the rehabilitation plan and application of the functional and corrective exercises prescription as an adjunct to manual therapy is presented.
These concepts are applied directly to exercise programming and the performance plan integrating principles of muscle performance, strengthening & conditioning, and the ability to generate and absorb force during elite sport.

The 2025 NBA Draft Combine featured incredible conversations around innovation and collaboration in high performance — and the “Team Decision Making Using Sport Technology” panel was no exception.  We’re proud to see our member, Dr. Philip Anloague, take the stage alongside experts from across disciplines to discuss how teams are using data and tech to improve outcomes for athletes.

One of the key takeaways? It’s all about communication. You can have all the data in the world, but if the team doesn’t collaborate, share insights, and align on action, it’s meaningless. That’s why it’s so important that physical therapists — intimately embedded in the day-to-day recovery and performance of athletes — have a voice in these conversations.

Representation matters. PTs are not just rehab specialists — we are essential decision makers in the broader performance system. Seeing our members lead and contribute on panels like this shows the value we bring to elite sport and the direction the NBPTA is pushing our profession.
