RBOI is feeling inspired in our service to those with cancer. Our community partner HUGs Charities helps provide financial assistance to those struggling to make ends meet during cancer. Things like paying for a utility bill or a rent payment can help keep people afloat during dark times. HUGs annual fundraiser is this week! Anyone wanting to support can attend. Attended a dynamic presentation on cancer screenings tonight in Oak Run with Lisa McGuire. The group was so engaged and asked tons of questions. A few take aways:
1. You don’t have to leave the county to access fully accredited cancer care
2. Yes- you can reduce cancer risk by up to 60 percent with lifestyle adjustments!!
3. Men - get your PSA blood test for prostate cancer beginning anywhere from age 40 to 50 depending on risk factors
4. We have some AMAZING charities improving access to care. Highlight Michelle-O-Gram!!!! And HUGs Charities/Cancer Alliace!
