Although the number one treatment for feline asthma is prednisolone there are lots of things you can do at home to help the asthma cat.
Stress can cause asthma attacks so make sure kitty has a zen space all to themselves. New low dust cat litters help to keep the air free of dust particles. Essential fatty acids are wonderful for everything including inflammation for the asthma patient. Although there are not too many research articles some claim the anti inflammatory effects of CBD to be beneficial for asthma cats.

No one ever wants to think of end of life for your pet. It’s important to remember that it’s the last thing we do for our pet to show them how much we love them. No animal should have to suffer until the bitter end. We are very fortunate to now have in home end of life options in Ocala, Florida. Pets enjoy beaches but did you know that hookworms love sand and thrive in sand. Most dog friendly beaches are also hookworm friendly beaches. Dogs can get hookworm from licking or sniffing the sand or just by walking on it. Once inside the body they migrate to the intestines where they mature. Fun fact - hookworms are zoonotic meaning people can get them too! In humans they get what is called cutaneous larva migrans that can be seen and is super gross.

When a pet is overheated it’s important to move them inside in a cool environment. Fans can be used as well as damp towels to help your pet cool down. Florida heat kills dogs quickly, no pet should be left outside alone without being able to go inside. Outdoor kennels and tethers are a death sentence for pets in the Florida heat. “Gnocchi” the dog in the videos would easily kill herself with outdoor activity if left unmonitored. Her backyard also has a lot of shade but that doesn’t help the active dog in Florida heat. True heatstroke requires emergency assistance! Straight to the doggy ER
