The quote is, “Improve yourself 1% every day.” Many automatically think workouts, mind, attitude and/or career when they read it. That’s good, but I like to think beyond that. I think of improvement as simplifying ones lifestyle to focus on and appreciate one’s basic blessings- our children; not simply the look but health of our bodies; our homelife; skills we need to thrive & survive; and our relationship with Jesus.
As far as the health of our bodies, for years I’ve been making changes to improve my family’s wellbeing- from our food, to the material of our athletic wear & underwear, to our soap & toothpaste, etc. Last week, I finally installed a shower filter. Our skin is the biggest organ, and so it deserves special care. We can’t bath in stream or well water (yet), but I can improve our water, so I did.
Ladies, as the woman of the home, we have a beautiful & serious duty to take GREAT CARE of the people with whom we’ve been blessed & entrusted. Do what you’re able (which is usually much more when we take away distractions & excuses) with what you have. 1% every day!
