Notice to Parents

Due to an increased volume of requests, short staffing, and heightened requirements from schools, a fee of $10 will now apply to all school forms completed outside of regular office visits. If specific forms are required by the school, parents must provide them.

To expedite the process, all patient information and the parent portion must be filled out before submitting forms to the office. This includes, but is not limited to:

Child’s name

Date of birth

Current weight (if applicable)

List of food allergens (if applicable)

Names of specific medications used at home (especially for asthma)

Brand of epinephrine device used

Blank forms will be returned to parents to complete and will not be expedited upon resubmission.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Exploring alternatives to traditional allergy shots? Sublingual Immunotherapy (SLIT) could be a compelling option—especially for patients juggling busy schedules or those with needle anxiety.

SLIT gradually reduces IgE-mediated responses through daily administration under the tongue, monitored by your allergist during the initial dose for safety. It’s FDA-approved for grass, ragweed, and dust mite allergens in tablet form, while custom drop formulations may cover multiple allergens.

Interested in expanding your allergy care toolkit? Let’s connect and discuss SLIT’s fit for you.

Signs and symptoms of an allergic reaction usually appear within a few minutes to several hours after exposure to a food allergen. If not treated promptly, food allergy reactions can be fatal. The student can also experience a second phase of their reaction called a biphasic reaction. This means the student may respond initially to treatment but experience symptoms later that are less severe, as severe, or even more severe than the initial reaction. After the administration of epinephrine, 9-1-1 should be called and students should always be transported to an emergency room for further treatment.
