There’s something about the ocean that always feels like a reset… and this weekend it held both joy and a few tears for me. 🌊
I got to spend time at one of my favorite beaches capturing graduation photos for my second son. How is that even possible? Watching your babies grow up—especially after years of homeschooling them side by side—is such a beautiful, emotional, wild adventure. One minute you’re teaching them to read on your living room couch… and the next you’re celebrating who they’ve become and celebrating the next adventure.
Motherhood stretches you in the best ways. And walking through all these seasons—from newborn snuggles to launching young adults—has deeply shaped how I show up as a midwife. I don’t just see pregnancy and birth… I see the long, sacred journey of parenting that follows. I carry that perspective into every conversation, every encouragement, every bit of support I offer my clients. 💜
He might be moving forward but for me he will always be my 9lb 9oz baby. The one whose posterior birth challenged me, changed me, and firmly made me a believer in the power of bodywork and trusting the process.
Time moves fast. But what a gift it is to walk alongside our children as they grow—and to walk alongside families as they grow their families as a midwife.
