Final pre-Christmas clinic day ✔️🎄

I could not pass up the chance to wear my speculum reindeer shirt—much to the absolute horror of my tweenagers. (Worth it. Always worth it.) 😂

Now we wait on one final 2025 very sweet little one to arrive… and my families betting pool is officially open. I’ve attended births the past two Christmases, so the big question is:
✨ Will this be Christmas Birth #3 in a row?
🌧️ Or will the rain bring a cozy pre-Christmas arrival?

Either way, bags are ready, Christmas presents are wrapped and craft and cookie decorating is in full swing at our house until I get the birth call. This midwife is feeling grateful, festive. ❤️

Beautiful way to start a day in SoCal 💜
A few pictures from my early morning walk—crisp air, a little chill, and excitement for rain coming soon. If you’re in Southern California, you know how excited we get when rain is on the horizon, especially when little ones are in dates for arrival! ☔️💜

I ask all my clients to find time to walk 30min daily during their pregnancy, and try to do at least the same myself. A few sweet reminders of why it matters:
• Regular walking can help improve circulation, support healthy blood sugar levels, and reduce common aches and pains. Plus it costs nothing outside of your time!
• Walking encourages optimal baby positioning and can support stamina and endurance for birth.

A simple walk, a deep breath, and a little time outside can be so nourishing—for body, mind, and growing babies and overall health when not pregnant. 💜

Amazing!!! 👏

Amazing!!! 👏

"I am one of the lucky few who took 12 weeks of maternity leave. I was paid for 10 weeks. When I returned from work, I was able to bring my baby with to work. Boulder County has a policy called 'Infant at Work' that allows parents to bring their infant to work until they are mobile (crawling, walking). HR supplies returning moms with private lactation rooms with hospital grade pumps. HR gives all moms their own Medela kits to connect to pumps at county buildings. In addition, HR provides all employees who choose to bring their infant to work with a Pack n Play portable crib, Boppy pillow and bouncer. This is what PROGRESS looks like!

I am SO grateful for my employers commitment to support breastfeeding in the workplace. In addition, my job offers flexible work schedules (four 10's or five 9's and every other week take a day off) and teleworking. With the support of my employer and colleagues I have been breastfeeding my daughter for 13 months and counting! I feel that I have been able to find a work life balance and continue in a career I am passionate about (social work) and nurse my baby! I will continue nursing until she is ready to be done." - Naomi

⬆️ THAT is support for breastfeeding! Was your experience anything like Naomi's?

Postpartum Home visit time for the sweetest family. 💜

There’s something so special about stepping into a family’s space—checking in on mama, admiring a cozy newborn snuggle, and watching everyone settle into this tender postpartum rhythm. These quiet moments of connection, care, and support are such a gift and a big part of why I love this work so much.

So grateful to walk alongside families during this sacred season. 💜

It’s all about the details with placenta prints. I just love the fine details captured.

When interviewing your homebirth midwife, make sure she has these skills and that she talks in depth about them.

This midwife had a very caffeinated morning after welcoming a beautiful little one late last night. 💜
So deeply thankful for this work and the families who invite me into such sacred moments.

A fog-filled postpartum morning visit, followed by one of my favorite things—watching my kiddos swim at their meet. There is truly nothing better. 🏊‍♀️

We rested and reset for the week ahead (okay… my hubby did most of the resetting while I rested with the cat 🐾), and I’m feeling refreshed and grateful.

Excited and ready for the upcoming week—clinic days, families in care, and wherever birth may call next.

It’s Friday! 🤍 This midwife is so thankful for the coming weekend. Post-clinic charting is done, a million and one labs are updated, and follow-up appointments are scheduled. ✔️✨

My hubby has been traveling all week for his military work adventures, and I am so ready to have him back home. Shout out to all the other parents out there handling life single handed because you are just amazing. 💕 Even so, it’s been a truly beautiful week—one that included assisting at the arrival of a very sweet little one. I honestly never tire of supporting families as they welcome their babies. 💜

Now the big question… any guesses if we’ll welcome one baby or two more little ones this weekend?! 👶👶💜🎄💦

Being invited into a family’s postpartum time is truly such an honor. This window is so precious, sacred, and beautifully raw. I remember how tender those first days and weeks were for me with each of my five kiddos, and it’s why I strive to love on my clients just a little extra during this season. Supporting families as they settle, heal, and bond is one of the greatest privileges of this work. 💜

I have been doing more placenta color prints the past few months. This beautiful print headed out to the sweetest mom and I just love how it turned out. 💜💙 #

It’s been a busy, beautiful week… and this midwife is thankful it’s Friday! Especially since I have 2 days amazing midwifery training lined up for the weekend! 💜📚

Home visits filled with sweet conversations, the last birth tub pickup of the year, simmer pots making clinic day cozy, 2026 summer mommas beginning care, placenta encapsulations, and a bit of equipment upgrading sprinkled in.

My heart (and calendar!) are full, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Grateful for every family who invites me into their story. 💜
