Did you guys know there is a space that you can Yoga flow WHILE sharing birth stories? A spot to meditate AND share your worries about going into labor for the first time? A studio to practice breath control for labor BUT also for healing post delivery?

I recently read that you don’t need a specially trained Yoga instructor for prenatal Yoga. Although that is true….why wouldn’t you choose one? After 15 years of focusing on Hatha and Vinyasa Yoga I have added many other disciplines to my knowledge bank, and my latest is pre/postnatal Yoga. I started teaching at Grow because it happens to be the stage of life I’m currently in, but I never expected to love it as much as I do.ā¤ļø

I swoon over the Mamas that walk in each week watching their bellies and babies grow! I celebrate the weekly countdown with these beautiful Mamas, and when they roll up their mats temporarily while they deliver and heal, I (im)patiently wait for their return. When they come back 6-12 weeks later I get to hear it all as we work together to find a new normal fitness plan.

So if this applies to you, I strongly encourage you to try out a class. Come for the Yoga, stay for the community.

The thing I love most about Yoga is this: IT’S WHATEVER YOU MAKE OF IT✨

Some days on your mat you need to physically exhaust yourself between poses, others you need to get out of your head and just breathe. The practice is extremely personal and your journey should never be compared to the Yogis around you. BUT, Yoga can also be experienced, enjoyed, and celebrated with a tribe alongside you. Each practice decide what you need as you roll out your mat and then do that. The beauty of your practice is up to you🩵

Reason #735 why my husband is my favorite person; he motivates.

At the beginning of summer our whole family made bucket lists. Mine had fun summer things like go to the zoo, see fireworks, visit a water park. And his included running a 5k with his wife (which is next weekend) and completing the Murph challenge. Today we completed the Murph together with one of our littles participating where she could.

Zack’s time was the Lap 1 time, 40:28, and I finished shortly after at 46:57. There are a dozen of other things we could have done today, but the fact that he is always pushing us to do hard things together to make them fun, is why you can sign me up every time. Quality time together AND modeling this to our kids is why we work as a team, husband and wife, and business partners. Not to mention he then biked 8.6 miles home…I luckily got to drive homešŸ˜‚

I feel like gyms and Yoga studios should have a warning label: CAUTION as you glow up you will be disliked.

I’ve seen it and experienced it. You get into shape; your dedication and determination paying off. You start carrying yourself differently because you feel different. Not arrogant or cocky, but worthy. You replace ego with confidence…….And the ones not glowing up will judge you (even if they don’t know you right .86šŸ˜‰)

But here’s the thing, we are not responsible for how others react to our growing, changing, bettering ourselves. So keep showing up FOR YOU. Keep getting stronger FOR YOU. Keep flashing those Yoga poses FOR YOU. Keep running those marathons FOR YOU. Keep crushing your goals FOR YOU. But like my husband has taught me, keep inviting the others to join in. Help them want to glow up too. Inspire them to roll out their mat, put on their running shoes, or give a free trial at your gym a try because maybe that’s exactly what they need. A loving, caring, determined AF, goal chaser like you to help them find their confidence too.

As I set up for my lesson today I took a hard left turn.

Most Yoga teachers will tell you they LOVE teaching a packed studio. The students bring the energy and a full house fills our hearts! I am one of those teachers. My unwind classes would fill to the point there wasn’t even space for me and I loved it. But:

Every student should at some point do private Yoga sessions, and here is why.

✨Yoga is not one size fits all. One set of alignment cues will not work for every body that enters the studio space. We are all built differently and how we align our body depends on how we’re built.

✨injuries need to be addressed. Yoga is designed for a healthy body, but we all know it helps with aches, pains, and ailments too; however, injuries may need modifications or you could make matters worse.

✨your goals of why you do Yoga are important. If you are showing up for the mental workup, the teacher should be aware and not worry if you spend 90% of class in child’s pose.

✨A packed class is awesome, but a packed class full of confident Yogis is even better.

Tonight at 7 I get the pleasure to host a full Nidra class in the cozy studio space of Bridgeworks Wellness LLC. If you’ve ever done Nidra with me in the past you know this type of resting/healing Yoga holds a special place in my heart. AND tonight it’s paired with energy balancing. AND it’s going to rain which means the atmosphere is going to be charged with energy, reacting to your energy…is your energy positive or negative? If you’ve got that good energy it will be multiplied with the rain, but if yours is out of balance you’ll be releasing negative energy into the atmosphere.
