Are You Spiritually Ready, or Just Spiritually Busy?

Jesus warned us that not everyone who is waiting is actually *prepared*.

In Matthew 25, Jesus tells the parable of the ten virgins. All ten were invited. All ten were waiting. But only five were prepared when the bridegroom arrived.

The others assumed they had time.

They were distracted. Delayed. Doing other things. They did the bare minimum, and when the moment came, they were not ready.

Imagine this in today’s terms.
It is your wedding day.
You do not have your suit or gown.
Your shoes are not ready.
Your not groomed or dressed.
You arrive late to your own ceremony.

But you expect the bride or the groom to wait because you *intended* to be ready.

How serious are you about a covenant when preparation was never a priority?

This is exactly what Jesus was teaching. Preparation reveals priority. Readiness reveals seriousness.

We are living in a time when many believers are distracted by the world, entertainment, comfort, and busyness, assuming there will always be more time. Even I was reminded this morning during my time in Scripture that we must be prepared *at all times*, not when it is convenient.

This warning applies to every believer, men and women, who desire to walk faithfully with Christ.

Jesus says:

Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.
Matthew 25:13

This is not about fear. It is about faithfulness.
It is not about perfection. It is about preparedness.

If Jesus came today, would you be ready, not as a woman or a man, but as a faithful believer?

Preparation is not optional. It is obedience.

In Matthew chapter 23, Jesus boldly confronts religious pride, hypocrisy, misuse of spiritual authority, and outward performance without inward surrender. This chapter reveals the heart posture that God desires from His people: humility, truth, servant leadership, and authentic relationship with Him.

Many of the issues Jesus addressed in the religious leaders of His day still exist within modern churches today. This teaching invites every believer to examine not only what they do for God, but why they do it, who they are becoming, and who they are truly following.

Jesus declares in Matthew 23:11 (KJV), “But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.” This is the posture of the Kingdom and the call for every follower of Christ.

This message is for believers who desire spiritual maturity, discernment, and a deeper walk with Christ beyond religious behavior and outward appearance.

How we live matters.

Jesus said if you love Me you will keep My Commandments.

Christ will return and so many are not ready.
