We may think about yoga as creating strength and flexibility, but the true magic in the practice is connect-ability.
Connecting parts of the neural information of the body together with all the rest of itself.
When we take a triangle pose, I typically see people take the pose the way they like it. And without exposure to other teachers and other experiences, you might spend your whole Yoga life doing the pose just that way. Yet the variations on that pose are innumerable. And the variations that can be created inside the body are also vast.
That’s the beauty of the practice.
How many different ways can you practice triangle pose? With a block, without a block, with a back leg bent, with the top arm out instead of over - all of these different positions. How about coming in and out of the posture in different ways? These variations all create a deep and lasting intelligence between the brain and the body.
This is how Yoga evolves the health with a person. There is not one way to walk through life, just as there’s not one way to walk-through a posture.
It’s all about curiosity and exploration. This allows a body to experience the practice in fresh new ways, increasing the elasticity of the brain and refreshing the body with new information.
