Some days I have to remind myself…

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.

Losing Evyn is something I will never understand…

But telling his story, loving him out loud, and trying to help others—
that’s what I can do.

If his story reaches even one person…
if it helps even one life… it matters.

He was only 21.

He worked in the oilfield as a water hauler and took pride in his job.
He could do just about anything—weld, concrete, build fence, ride horses, mow lawns. He was strong.

He loved his family. That was just who he was.
And he was always helping people, especially the elderly.

Evyn had struggles.
He got into trouble at times and dealt with addiction.

But he fought for his recovery.
He put in the work. He had things together and was headed in the right direction.

He celebrated one year sober on December 12, 2025.
That mattered. That was real.

He relapsed on December 25…
and we lost him on December 26.

There are still some things we don’t understand, and still questions.

This isn’t a perfect story.
It’s just real life.

But his recovery, his effort, and the man he was becoming—
that’s what I’ll always hold onto. ☀️

All of this… at just 21.
Evyn walked with purpose. ☀️

I’ve been trying to find the right words… and I’m not sure there ever are.

This is Evyn 🤍
If you knew him, you knew his smile, his strength, and the way he showed up for the people he loved. He worked hard, loved big, and lived real.

Losing him changed me.

But I didn’t want his story to end there.

So this is Evyn’s Voice—a place where his life is remembered, his story is shared, and his voice is still heard.

I’m doing this for me… and for him.
For the days that feel heavy, and for the moments I want to hold onto forever.

He is loved. He is missed. And he will never be forgotten.

This page was created in honor of my son, Evyn — my “Sonshine.”
His light, his heart, and his story deserve to be heard.

Evyn loved deeply. He felt everything in a big way.
He also struggled… and like so many, addiction became part of his story.

But that is not all he was.

He was laughter.
He was strength.
He was 555s, the Serenity Prayer, and a heart that never stopped loving.

Through this page, I want to share his voice —
to bring awareness, to bring hope, and to remind anyone struggling that they are not alone.

I’m doing this for him.
And for every person who still needs a reason to keep going.
