You Did It! How do you feel? Do you feel more energetic, positive, confident, grounded, and healthier? Our "whole" health is holistically comprised four parts...spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical. And all four parts are intertwined with one another. That is why we cannot treat just one part without looking at the other parts. And we cannot grow in one-part without growing in all four parts. Our Creator is truly amazing!!

I started attending Celebrate Recovery regulating in 2013. I am very thankful I had this group who became family during a major life change. One thing we do at CR is offer the Blue Chip twice (a token sign of the surrender of a particular area of one's life), once at the beginning of the meeting and again at the end. So, today I am offering a "Blue Chip" again...Is there one thing in your life you may want to show gratitude for today?

Wherever you are right now is where you can make a difference. Think about it, you have the opportunity to be grateful for the job you are in right this very moment...working from home, full time mom, janitor, teacher, volunteering, mechanic part time worker...it doesn't matter you can make a difference as you change your attitude to that of gratitude. Being thankful for something about your job every day will change the way you view your job and the way your co-workers (family or friends) view you. Because you will be bringing a new energy to the environment, a more positive one.

Technology is amazing and addictive. Some people love it, and some hate it. Either way it can be beneficial for reconnecting, business, gathering information, sharing, and research. For instance, if it weren't for the internet my husband and I would not have met. We met on Christian Mingle seven years ago. And I am so thankful we did and for the technology of the internet dating. ❤

Happy Thanksgiving!!! I hope you have a blessed Thanksgiving! Today is a great day to find gratitude in our lives and continue on our wellness journey this holiday season. Here are my 5 tips for today:
1. Stop eating when you are 80% full (which includes dessert). Watch your portion size too.
2. Eat your dessert immediately following your meal (it keeps your glucose from spiking).
3. Take a 15-minute walk after your meal.
4. Wait at least 3 hours before eating again including snacking. Be sure all snacks include some protein.
5. Have Fun.

Here are my 5 tips for today:

Our Creator gave us characteristics, gift, talents, callings, and passions. How are we using them...for good? Have you ever stopped to think about who you were made to be. It's never too late to become that person. What are you passionate about? What makes you want to get out of bed every morning? What do others compliment you on the most?

If you couldn't tell I am passionate about health and wellness and one of my characteristics is taking care of people. I am a caregiver and I have compassion for others to feel better so they can have a better life. My first calling is to take care of my husband and then my family who live close and so on.

I hope you are encouraged today to journal about this topic and discover something new about you.

The holidays are a wonderful time of celebrations and gatherings however they can also be a time of indulgence and relapse. With the holidays coming next week, I want to share 1 of my 7 Immune Boosters for this Winter with you to have in your “wellness toolkit”.

It’s essential oils…I discovered essential oils in 2010 and have benefited from them in so many ways. The first way I experienced a major benefit was with my hormones. I no longer was a bear once a month and felt some joy in my life. And the joy has been gradually increasing over the years as I discovered other things to change in my environment. (More on that later.)

Other ways I have benefited from essential oils has been for emotional support. Which is something we all can utilize during the holidays. Aromatherapy is amazing and so good for the spirit, soul, and body.😊❤️💪

TGIF! Did I just date myself? Does anyone even say that anymore? I love Fridays because it’s date night! And I love taking care of my spirit, soul, and body so I can enjoy my life, my health and my marriage. ❤️

There was a time in my life when I didn’t love myself much less liked myself and wasn’t a nice person to be around. My cup was empty and what I overflowed to others was resentment, fear, and self-pity.

Now you know a piece of my story of why I got certified in natural health and why I am a self-care advocate.

Did you know there are 206 bones in the body? They provide structural support for movement and are made up of calcium, water, and collagen. Calcium gives our bones it’s strength, water makes up 25-30% of bone weight which contributes to its strength and collagen provides bone some elasticity. When we move today let’s think about our bones and how we can care for them as well as be thankful for the magnificent design which we have been made.🙌🏻💪❤️

Just like music, reading can be very relaxing and transforming. I’m so grateful God instilled such talents in people and we get to enjoy them. When I read a really good book, I think to myself how thankful I am this person wrote and published this book and shared it with the world. 🌎📖🙌🏻.

Maybe you have a book within you. When we journal, we are writers…authors of our own story. And the best part we get to make choices on how we want to be portrayed in our life’s story.

“Tis the season to be jolly”…this is my favorite time of year. I love fall and Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. But sometimes this time of year can be stressful and triggering. Now is a great time to look in our toolbox and prepare to make it better. Start now with ways to de-stress and get into the habit of using your tools. Find tools you enjoy and bring you peace, calmness, and thankfulness. It’s a great time of year to get out in nature or start an exercise program. You got this! Let’s make this holiday season better than ever!

Did you know walking stimulates lymph drainage, helps with posture, and promotes better blood flow as well as increases oxygenation throughout the body? Recently we moved to a new town…it has been an adjustment for us. We were very active in our old town and it was a small town where we knew most people. It was the town my kids grew up in and where I have family and old friends…I miss my old small town and it’s holiday celebrations and parades.❤️

And now we live in a big city where there is always something to do or go see and explore. It’s fun to find little treasures among the big city life. I have two things I’m thankful for in this new big city…one of my daughters lives here with her family and we get to see them often ❤️ and I have found a beautiful park with wonderful trees and surrounding pretty old houses to walk. I call it my “little Central Park”. 🍁
