Long after The Golden Girls, Bea Arthur quietly showed what true allyship looks like.

In the early 2000s, she learned that countless LGBTQ+ teens were being kicked out of their homes. Appalled, she began supporting a NYC shelter - not just with donations, but with her presence. She’d drop by with groceries or sit for hours listening, comforting, and reminding young people they mattered.

When she passed in 2009, it was revealed she’d left $300,000 to keep the shelter going. Today, it bears her name: The Bea Arthur Residence for Homeless LGBTQ+ Youth.

Her legacy proves that love doesn’t need an audience - it just needs action. 💖🏳️‍🌈

So let's be like Bea Arthur and show up in whatever way we can.

Out-of-Body Experiences Help the Mind Escape from Trauma

A new study reframes out-of-body experiences not as pathological but potentially protective.

Researchers found that people who report OBEs often have trauma histories, especially early in life, and may be subconsciously using OBEs to detach from distress.

Rather than fearing mental illness, many experiencers view OBEs as beneficial, even life-changing.

The experiences often begin in childhood and can occur spontaneously or through meditation or altered states.

While these individuals may also face mental health challenges, OBEs could represent resilience rather than dysfunction.

The study urges mental health professionals to reconsider their approach, promoting open dialogue and reducing stigma.

This combination of s*x chromosomes occurs when a cell receives an extra copy of the X chromosome during cell division. A similar event can lead to female offspring with three X chromosomes, or males with one X chromosome and two Y chromosomes. "
